This thread is mainly refering to the Dec 07/08 topic that was discussed.
Having lived abroad for almost 10 yrs now I would say India is definitely moving forward to being one with all its social & cultural constraints. Two main reasons being

India with all its differences has had 2 women leaders as a country on the whole (Mrs. Indira Gandhi & Mrs. Pratibha Patil) - Which even a culturally forward country like America is unable to achieve till date.

In India the most popular festival Diwali (Hindu Festival) is celebrated by everyone - be it a muslim or a Christian with equal enthusiasm, which again is unique only to India

I feel whatever social problems we're having today are actually vanishing fast & so very soon India will be a true cosmopolitan country.

Hey Gopinath Sir.. Why can't you have a show regarding the best things happened in tamilnadu where other states missed it to achieve..
or in india where other countries r lackin behind ??

atleast do this yearly once .. so it ll be very proud for all indians in india n people like us who all r sufferin outside india :)
