No matter how much we like to deny it, all of us have our own superstitions. While some of us limit it to stopping and taking a different route every time a cat crosses our way, there are people who will wear the same dress without washing it during exams! Our tele-stars are no different, they are also prey to various superstitions.
Vivan Bhatena: I don't think I can be called superstitious, but I do a lot of small things, which can qualify as superstitions! For example, I don't walk below a ladder because someone somewhere told me that it brings bad luck. Similarly, if I have left behind something and realise it after going out of the house, when I come back to collect it, my wife always asks me to sit for a while before leaving again. I oblige.
Pariva Pranati: I have few superstitions, which I follow. The first and foremost being giving a flying kiss to Ganpati Bappa's idol every time I leave home! For the last 10 years, I always perform a puja on Thursdays and consider it as a lucky day for me. So whenever I have to sign a new deal or start a new show, I insist that it be done on a Thursday! Even when I was a student, I had some superstitions. I used to wear the same dress throughout my exams, year after year.
Dimple Inamdar: I do not let superstitions get the better of me, but every time there is a new show, I do pay a visit to the Siddhi Vinayak temple. If I am too desperate for success, then I walk my way to the temple from my home. Then I am also a bit superstitious about colours. I do not wear black on Saturdays, after someone told me that the colour is not good for that day!
Mohit Sehgal: I do not believe in any superstitions! I believe that if you pray properly, all your sins will be washed off and you will get what you want. I visit religious places of all faiths and take my worshipping very seriously.
Shraddha Nigam: I never believe in superstitions. Even when I was a kid, I do not remember being superstitious. I always surrender myself to God and bow my head in front of Almighty. That is the only superstition, if you may call it so, I have.
Vinod Singh: Previously I never believed in superstitions but I guess being an actor we ought to believe in one thing, which is a coconut breaking ceremony during the time of Mahurat. I always cross check with the production staff whether they had a coconut breaking ceremony or not.
Aastha Choudhary: I do have some superstitions! My lucky no is 2 because I was born on July 20. So, whenever I start something new, I try to involve the number 2 in it! But I am logical enough to realise that it is not always possible. I am also very particular about Saturdays. I do not know why but I never start anything new on Saturdays. The other superstition I am particular about is to request the director not to say 'Cut' after my first shot, but to indicate in some other way that the shot is over.
Sarita Joshi: I don't believe in superstitions at all. I only trust the ultimate power and pray to God with all my soul and energy. I gain a lot of positive vibes from that. Plus with the kind of working hours we maintain, how many of us can even think of superstitions?
