Dear Editor / Dear Mr. Gopinath,
It is one great programme which has pulled me to Start Vijay and Mr.Gopinath on Sundays nights. Today's programme [22 mar 09 ] on Public vs Officials should have had some more components which included a viewer / common man participation. I felt that may be due to the face to face factor or whatever, some of the true issues did not surface.
1. Prrior announcement in your channel to the general public about this Kind of particular programme so that "the Common Man"[ who did not have opportunity to participate in your programme, due to place criteria / selection criteria ] could have sent their responses which helps them to "represent Common Man's Voice". You could have categorised the issues with a top 10 approach so that these " unrepresented / unheard" issues can see the light of the day.
2. You should also announce the topics of the programme 15 days earlier than the broadcost so that the public can have the actual time to send the details, since this programme is not the " realtime reality show" and a pre-recorded one.
3. Every week when we watch this programme, we get enough and more questions in our mind - there should be a forum to represent this expectation. [ Please remember that many of the topics you touch in this programme are having an impression on the public mind and that is why this programme is becoming popular more. ]
4. You can then categorise the issues with a top 10 approach so that these " unrepre sented / unheard" issues can see the light of the day.
5. If possible, you can send the followup information on Top 3 category issue, from the respective officials.
6. This is not only will boost the TRP beyond what you have now, but also make "the public feel" that yours is different and supportive, than those "channels" of Tamil Nadu.
7. It is a good show, something different. But I sincerely feel that it should not end there as with an anchor like Mr. Gopinath, it should not only to create a "TRP rating boost" but should have the real benefit to the public. Try to have some flavour from “aap ki adalat” by Mr. Rajat Sharma, India TV.
8. ESPECIALLY, I am sure you would HOT programmes on Election 2009 Coverage. We just have 28 Days to go for this MEGA EVENT. You should bring the OPEN DEBATE" programme where the candidates of every part at every constituency MUST participate and list out their manifesto. They should mention the likely time factor for each commitment. This is besides the general Party Manifesto. This would be a genuine expectation from the common man to help for a better governance. Since the time is short, it should be a DAILY programme.
9. Similarly, you should bring in a programme on EDUCATION by bringing all schools to participate at different levels – will help change this McCalay system of Education to more advanced practical system of education.
10. Similarly, on the share market issues – with experts and the company heads…etc
11. A programme for followup of issues – like Times Now Saturday Night 11 PM programme [ sorry I forgot the name]
Hope my feedback helps,
Regards,
Mohan
