Though the Chotte Nawab has been dating a Punjabi girl since sometime now, it’s only when he had to wear the turban when he learnt about the asli Punjabi culture. Saif who dons a role of a Sikh in Love Aaj Kal reveals that he loved his turban and the complete get up of a Sikh.
Saif says that he has never worn the turban just for the sake of shooting. The actor values and respects it completely. He in fact gave instructions to all the actors donning turban to respect it, “Yes there was a serious instruction given to the entire ensemble wearing turban that they must treat the turban with respect. I think all the Sardars watching this film will be proud of the authenticity and respect that we have maintained to represent Sardars,” says Saif.
Though this Nawab enjoyed being a Sardar onscreen, his turban kept him away from his sweetheart. Saif could hardly make any calls when he used to be in the get up. “It’s very difficult to make calls or speak on mobiles after wearing turban.” He quips.
