In a recent interview with a magazine, actress Mugdha Ghodse says that she never took modeling seriously nor did she think of it as a career option until she won the Gladrags Mega Model contest. Here is the excerpt of the interview:

"I belong to a simple family in Pune and have studied in a Marathi medium school all my life. Like any normal middle-class girl, my pocket money was Rs300 a month. I often did odd jobs that included standing in a petrol pump and doing a survey for a brand of car oil. I even sold mags and newspapers.

Then in college, I wanted to join a gym but never had the money to do so. So I took up a job in a gym. My family didn’t know I was actually bunking classes, working and working out in a gym and earning Rs1,200 too. [Laughs]

They actually had no clue about modelling and nor did I. When they asked me what it is, I said, ‘Kapde pehen ke chalneka’. The fact that it was a career option started dawning on me only after I won in the Gladrags Mega Model contest."
