Pooja Kanwal has been working hard. Besides South Indian, Punjabi, Pakistani and Hindi movies, the actress’s Hindi film, Blue Oranges, is set to release soon. She talks to us about the man in her life and her upcoming wedding to him.
“Avinash is a jeweller and I first met him at his shop. My family had been visiting his shop often, but I never went because I am not very fond of jewellery. Then, an astrologer told me to wear a ring and my mom told me to go to his shop. And that’s how we first met. Then we found that we had some friends in common and work out at the same gym. We started meeting often, and it’s been three years now.”
Where other actresses prefer to focus on their careers at this stage in their lives, Pooja is getting married at the age of 24. But, she says, “When you meet the right person, the time becomes right on its own. I don’t see any reason to wait, being only 24 is not reason enough. We have been together for so long.”
The actress adds, “Nowadays when I come back from work the only free time I have is those few hours at home. At least when I am married, I know that time will be spent with him. I hardly get time with him because of my busy schedule.” Pooja has been so busy that she’s hardly had time to plan for her wedding.
So how does her fiancée react to her chosen field of work? “Avinash is not from the industry, but he completely understands me and my commitments. He and his family have been amazingly supportive. He is comfortable with the fact that his fiancée is an actress.”
