Former hockey coach Mir Ranjan Negi, who was last seen on TV dancing in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 2, has landed the part of a coach in Palampur Express.

Our source says, “His role is quite important to Pavni (Akangsha Rawat), who has been admitted to a sports academy. He will help her to improve, which will be a turning point in her life. Negi was finalised just day before yesterday, and his entry will take place in next week’s episodes.”
Negi told the press, ‘I will play a role that is not too different from what I am in real life.’ He added that he hadn’t watched any episodes of the serial but hoped that people would accept him as an actor the way they accepted him as a dancer.'
Negi came under the spotlight when Chak De! India was released, as the story of Kabir Khan, played by Shah Rukh Khan, was said to be partly based on his life. The former coach also reportedly coached SRK and the girls for the film.
