in my view ,no one captain is as good as sourav ganguly ,when i compare to last captains he is better .but i don't say next new captain won't be as good as sourav ganguly. as yet , he is better . i have seen captaincy of rahul dravid but i am not satisfy . assuming that sourav didnot win 2003 world cup but may win next world cup.

i think BCCI has been really unfair with rahul dravid. he is the most consistent player we have.
and it was too hasty to take the captaincy away from him after just one series, that too against a strong team like sri lanka!
i think this might be just some regional chavunism. very few captains have come from south. it is either maharashtra or north that dominates.

It is not the question of captaincy. A or B? The team itself is a big question mark. Ofcourse when two teams play, only one can win. But there is dignity even in losing. Why send some baffoons, who have no discipline, no application, no dedication, no nothing and waste valuable foreign exchange? All the Indian Bradmans hit all the sixes and fours in advertisements and hence forget to score even single when the real game comes. Even our national game hockey and to some extent footaball have suffered much due to the overpopularity of cricket in the country. Cricket is often considered to be a game of chance, but even this chance is not enough to win a match for India. Let us stop this TAMASHA. I have stopped watching Indian team play long back.

Dear PJ Prasad,

Full marks to you on your views about the sorry state of affairs in Indian cricket team selection. Actually vested interests are at play here. Apart from regional politics of the selectors, big sponsors (colas and all) of cricket have invested too much money in senior players for long term. These sponsors put pressure on the Selectors to choose players on whom they have invested a lot of money. I would even name players like Saurav and Sachin .....they are way past their prime and should retire gracefully now. They are a drag on the entire team.
It is a fact that other sports like soccer and hockey have been neglected. But does anyone care in the Sports Ministry? I don't think so.

I Don't agree with Ganguly record as the most successfull captain. In my view i rate Md.Azaruddin as the best captain of all time. Why Ganguly is successfull today is not because he led the Indian team to most successfull wins. Because he got Players like Dravid, Sachin, VVS Laxman, Kumble, Srinath, Harbajan.. The list is endless. Who played a very important role in all the indian victories. Think if Ganguly had led the team Azaruddin led, would he be so successfull..?.

Well I agree that Ganguly has been out of his cricketing best for quite some time and that had it been any other cricketer in his shoes, he would have been history by now, but lets not forget that Ganguly has been the best captain that India has ever had...he has helped India win many matches...and that India has had its moment of glory (reaching the finals of the 2003 world cup) after the 1984 prudential cup win, only during Ganguly's captaincy....and lets also not forget that Ganguly is a very fiery batsman....he can throttle any bowling attack (when in form that is) ..this shows that he has the potential of a good batsman...and last but not the least, he knows how to LEAD a team and how to utilise the limited resources that he has to the maximum. most of the team members look up to him...Also, he is the most aggressive of the men in the team, which is a must for a captain in international cricket of today, when you are up against the likes of the arrogant aussies and english...honestly, no other indian player would and could have the guts of making steve waugh wait for 15 minutes for the toss and to finally come on the ground for the toss wearing shorts!!...i think, Indian team needs the phenomenon called Sourav Ganguly and it is only a matter of time that he regains his lost form.

Hi All,

Oh !..Cricket is the game for a young live man. Keep fit little man keep fit. This was the poem which I learned at my school days.

Now, It is missing in true sense. Whether it is Captaincy, or Batting or Bowling / Fielding.

Greg Chappell is trying hard to Weave and Sieve the Indian Team. Let us debate whether He is Right or Wrong ?

Let us leave apart the Politics ingredients into it. Talk Professionally..

What say you..?
