Andhra Fish Curry
Ingredients: 250 gms Fish cubes
For Marination: 3 gms Red chilli powder, 2 gms Turmeric powder, 1 Lemon for lemon juice, A pinch of Salt.
For Curry: 10 ml Oil, 5 gms mustard, 5 gms Jeera, 2 Onions chopped, 30gms ginger garlic paste, 10 curry leaves, 2 Tomatoes chopped, ½ Coconut for Coconut paste, 3 gms Turmeric powder, 5 gms Red chilli powder, 5 gms Coriander Powder, Salt to taste.
For Garnish: Coriander leaves (chopped)
Method: Marinate the cut fish with red chilli powder, tumeric, salt and lemon juice and leave for about an hour.
For curry, heat Oil in a Kadai and add the mustard and jeera. When it starts crackling, add the chopped Onions, ginger garlic paste and curry leaves. Cook till the Onions turn golden brown.
Add the tomatoes and the Coconut paste. Cook for a minute and add the turmeric powder, red chilli powder, Coriander powder and salt to taste.
After mixing a little water, add the marinated pieces of fish. Boil till the fish is cooked and the curry is of the right consistency. Check for seasoning and dish out in a serving bowl. Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves.
Speciality: This curry was served to the President of India at Taj Residency, on his recent visit to Hyderabad.
