Hi all, I just listened to the Soundtrack of Dil Jo Bhi Kahe and it is just gr8!Shankar Ehsaan Loy continue the journey which they began with Dil Chaahta Hai and better themselves with each film. The title track is a rocking track, even though the first few notes remind you of the opening of Madonna's Don't Tell Me hit. Kitni Narmi Se is as melodious as the title track of Kal Ho Na Ho was:) . Shankar Mahadevan performs well in Kaun Jaane. All in all a very good launchpad (at least in the music department) for Karan Sharma, the son of producer Romesh Sharma. Amitabh Bachchan plays the father of this new kid on the bloc. I would recommend buying this soundtrack.

I heard the music of Dil Jo Bhi kahe too and I loved it. Shankar-ehsaan-Loy have got the pulse of the young generation. They make great dance music that is why their songs are big hits in clubs and discs.

i thought this forum has all those kyunki saas type of members! good to see people who know their music!
btw, even thought i prefer original hindi songs, i don't mind listening to remixes. somehow, i have grown a fondness for them.
but post the bally sagoo wave, it has been ages since something innovative has been released. of course, there is bombay vikings and others, but nothing out of the box recently.
is there anything i have missed out on? am going to rhythm house this saturday - i go there at least twice a month.
what would you recommend i pick up?

Hi Rachita,
I've listened to the soundtracks of Dil Jo Bhi Kahey, Salaam Namaste, Chocolate and Ashiq Banaaya Aapne lately and all four of them are rocking!:) Now that computer generated music is so easily available, we are getting much better quality of music than we used to get in the nineties. Among the older hindi film soundtracks I liked Karam, Lucky, Aitraaz.

Hi Divya,

I recently heard some good sufi (& devotional) numbers in the soundtrack of Viruddh. Check that out. If you wanna hear meditational music you can also check out the Meditational instrumental music albums from the Osho Commune. Another good artist which makes great trance music (it's almost meditational) is Enigma. I love his "Sadness" number. Some of his albums are: Voyageur, Cross of Changes, couple of more I don't remember the names of.

Hi Sardarni PJ,

Some soft English numbers I like are Have you ever Loved a Woman and Everything I do I do it for you by Brian Adams, Crazy for you by Madonna, Against All Odds by Phil Collins, Unbreak my heart: I forget the singer's name, Careless Whispers, Father Figure by George Michael, Confide in Me by Kylie Minogue, Sacrifice by Elton John, It must have been Love by Roxette, I drove all night and That's the way it is by Celine Dione.............list is long. I have a big library but won't be able to upload so much data. So you can search for these songs on the net...u will easily find them. Happy listening. :)

Dear Sardarni,

After reading your last message, it looks like you are thoroughly bored. We all want something new in life. LOL. Thankfully, I don't have to go through this predicament as my name itself means "new"......Navin is Hindi for the word New;) . Coming to your request about telling you some new songs......I have thousands of them, so I'm kinda confused about how to give you the names of only a few and you may have also heard them before. But I'm making an attempt to give you a few names of songs I personally like, some are new some not so new:

Gangster's Paradise : Coolio
Hillary Duff : Come Clean
Eden2Pac Vs P.Diddy: Changes, I'll be missing you
GooGoo Dolls : Iris
GooGoo Dolls : Name
Jakatta Feat. Seal : My vision
Jason Donavan : Sealed with a Kiss (old soft romantic classic)
Justine : Be sexy
Kevin Lyttle : Turn me On ( I guarantee this song will turn you on. It has also been copied by a Vaishali Samant remix number)
Lindsay Lohan : Rumors
Mario Winans : This is the thanks I get
Nelly Furtado : Turn off the lights
Phil Collins : True Colors
Shaggy : Hope
Stacie Orricco : More to life
TATU : Not gonna get us
TATU : How soon
All Saints : All Hooked up
All Saints : Pure Shores
O-Zone : Dragostea Din Tei
Anastacia : Sick and tired
Anastacia : Made for loving you
Anastacia : Left Outside alone
ColdPlay : Yellow
ColdPlay : Para****es
ColdPlay : Clocks
Creed : Higher
Creed : With arms wide open

Phew! I have hundreds more.........but you get your hands on these songs first. Enjoy

Dear Divya,

Thanks for the compliment. I don't have Blue Eyes Blue by Eric Clapton but I can tell you a couple of sites where you can find English mp3s. I think you can find Eric's Mustang Sally and Danny Boy there. It is practically impossible for me to upload all the songs I have but I can tell you my sources and you can download from there yourself. Just PM me your email address and I will send you the addresses.

Cheers!:)
