West Indies Cricket Board have appointed Brain Lara as the captain, I strongly feel that its a step backward for an already struggling team. Brain Lara now 37 doesnt seem as a long term focus, Lara at the maximum will last until next years world cup which is just another 12 months away. Someone else must have been choosen as the captain and they must have allowed Lara to concentrate only on his game.
Though Sarwan would've been a logical choice as he is young and can take the team forward for another 4-5 years, I would've liked to see Sylvester Joseph, the man who captained West Indies in Sri Lanka during the series in which India too was involved as the captain. He captained well with the limited resources he had and really made India & Sri Lanka struggle with such a in-experienced team (Sylvester Joseph actaully leads the West Indies A-Team & also Leeward Islands). Inexperience could count, but who knows?
