ORDER OF THINGS

There is a rightful order found
Beyond the things that seem to be,
Something beneath the surface seen
Hidden behind prevalent schemes.

I know this fact through feelings felt
in such relief that come to mind,
When in life I do my bit
And leave results to Spirit's will.

There is a rightful order found
In which Spirit our lives arrange,
Giving us what we rightly earn
With precision in circumstance,

Designed to rhyme and meet somehow
In a rightful order, time, and place.

PEARL HARBOR TO 911; EVERLASTING CHANGES

From the rubbles of pearl harbor
To the collapse of twin towers 911
I marvel at the desecration of our freedom
And salute the resilience of our might

On each occasion cry for our mother country
I cry for the falling heroes that bless our landscapes
The ones that sheds the sacrificial blood
That keep us focused and bold

From rubbles to rubbles, our ashes ascends heaven
Received by the almighty, He sends His blessings to fortify us
To make us better children for the world
The world shocked by a jolt to our foundation

At Pearl Harbor we shivered
At WTC coiled in to our souls
Senses could not understand the mayhem
Eyes could not believe the atrocities
The desecration of our land

On these occasions we came out outrageos
Smoking with anger and anguish
Asking innumerable questions with innumerable answers
Yet we could not see where we sinned
Against these enemies without conscience
Against men and women that became beast
Against the inhuman assault on our country

The world stood still, the time piece refused to still
Telling us that the struggle must continue
Justice must prevail to let light overcome darkness
The world listened to our cries
The birds of the earth refused singing
Because there is no joy on this infirmly day

The wave of our ocean rose in ferocity
Overflowing bounds and boundaries
Bubbling and boiling for action
To decimate these beast in human skin

These actions are deterrents
To restore our dignity and might
To restore honor to future generations
And keep democracy flowing in our blood,& souls

WHEN THY YOUTH IS SET TO LEAVE

When thy youth is set to leave
He said his voice so deep and soft.
And it is thy old age time to race,
But old age only can drag and shove,
Will some youth be in thee reserved?
To give support to thy old age race?
Or will thy habits be stuck in thee
To spoil thy fun of old age rest?

Again I ask thee he reached to him,
When thy youth is set to flee,
And the fountain of youth in thee
Has reached its topmost peak at end,
And old age knocks the door of life,
What in thee will flee with youth?
And what in youth will stay in thee
To keep the company old age craves?

I speak, I ask, but I tell thee too
He said with piercing eyes of blue,
Though thy aim when young is wild,
Do watch and make thy self to know:
When thy freedom is spent in waste,
Cause fun and joy in youth abused,
Becomes a debt when old to pay,
For what you sow is what you reap.

WE WILL LIVE AGAIN!

As the dust settle,
Residents of the nation,
Ever blessed country
Comb the carnage, and
Ransack the wreckage,
Picking up the pieces
Of their shredded lives,
And shattered dreams.

Once the land of honey/oil,
Now dried by greed.
Once a dear native land,
Now dogged by violence.
Where tribe and tongue
Though always differed,
Yet in brotherhood stood,
Now in hatred all severed.

Ashes of burnt houses,
Remnants of horror,
And lifeless bodies,
Litter the sordid streets
In pervaded desolation.
And so you expect,
A people pooped,
Worn out and withered.

But instead you find,
A people hopeful,
For in their eyes,
I see their future.
These besieged cities,
Will rise again.
And in this nation,
We will live again.

The Soul-Bird

O world-ignorance,
Although
You have shackled my feet,
I am free.

Although
You have chained my hands,
I am free.

Although
You have enslaved my body,
I am free.

I am free because I am not of the body.
I am free because I am not the body,
I am free because I am the soul-bird
That flies in Infinity-Sky.
I am the soul-child that dreams
On the Lap of the immortal King Supreme.

Poem - You Don't Believe

You say you don't believe
In the liberating God-goal.
To me, it is quite unimportant.
You say you don't believe
In the searching world-soul.
To me, it is quite unimportant.
But when
You say you don't believe
In your loving heart-cry,
To me, it is a serious matter.
Utter destruction is going to embrace you
Sooner than at once.

The Absolute

No mind, no form, I only exist;
Now ceased all will and thought;
The final end of Nature's dance,
I am it whom I have sought.

A realm of Bliss bare, ultimate;
Beyond both knower and known;
A rest immense I enjoy at last;
I face the One alone.

I have crossed the secret ways of life,
I have become the Goal.
The Truth immutable is revealed;
I am the way, the God Soul.

My spirit aware of all the heights,
I am mute in the core of the Sun.
I barter nothing with time and deeds;
My cosmic play is done.

Immortality

I feel in all my limbs His boundless Grace;
Within my heart the Truth of life shines white.
The secret heights of God my soul now climbs;
No dole, no sombre pang, no death in my sight.

No mortal days and nights can shake my calm;
A Light above sustains my secret soul.
All doubts with grief are banished from my deeps,
My eyes of light perceive my cherished Goal.

Though in the world, I am above its woe;
I dwell in an ocean of supreme release.
My mind, a core of the One's unmeasured thoughts;
The star vast welkin hugs my Spirit's peace.

My eternal days are found in speeding time;
I play upon His Flute of rhapsody.
Impossible deeds no more impossible seem;
In birth chains now shines Immortality.

Barren of events,
Rich in pretensions
My earthly life.

Obscurity
My real name.

Wholly unto myself
I exist.

I wrap no soul
In my embrace.

Have I.

A little joy have I of ceaseless joy,
A little day of timeless day.
Yet knows no bound this empty show of mine;
I march along a goalless way.

O Love! A desert within me ever pines.
Do turn it into a song of dawn.
I know not in what hour of evil night

O Bird of Light
~

One thought, one tune, one resonance-
Who calls me ever and anon?
I know not where I am.
I know not whither I shall go.
In dark amnesia,
Myself I buy, myself I sell.
All I break, again all I build.
All I hope to be mine, mine alone.
Alas, my heart is eclipsed
By dark and wild destruction night.

O Bird of Light, O Bird of Light,
With your glowing and flowing flames
Do enter into my heart once again.
You are calling me to climb up
And fly into the blue.
But how can I?
My heart is in prison,
In the strangled breath of a tiny room.
O Bird of Light, O Bird of Light,
O Bird of Light Supreme.
In me, I pray, keep not an iota of gloom.

The Golden Flute

A sea of Peace and Joy and Light
Beyond my reach I know.
In me the storm-tossed weeping night
Finds room to rage and flow.

I cry aloud, but all in vain;
I helpless, the earth unkind
What soul of might can share my pain?
Death-dart alone I find.

A raft am I on the sea of Time,
My oars are washed away.
How can I hope to reach the clime
Of God's eternal Day?

But hark! I hear Thy golden Flute,
Its notes bring the Summit down.
Now safe am I, O Absolute!
Gone death, gone night's stark frown!

And quickly bring to nought.

The earth is deaf and blind, my Lord;
Its true goal it denies.
It hears no voice, no heavenly word
From those who seek the skies.

Struggle's Gloom

With a blank sorrow, heavy I am now grown;
Like things eternal, changeless stands my woe.
In vain I try to overcome my foe.
O Lord of Love! Make me more dead than stone.

Thy Grace of silent Smile I never feel;
The forger of evil stamps my nights and days.
His call my sleepless body ever obeys.
My heart I annihilate and try to heal.

The dumb earth-waste now burns a hell to my soul.
I fail to fight with its stupendous doom,
My breath is a slave of that unending gloom.
For Light I pine, but find a tenebrous goal.

Smoke-clouds cover my face of Spirit's fire;
Naked I move in night's ignorance deep and dire

How long more shall I cry, Mother?
How long more shall I cry, Mother?

How long shall I cry

In a dark room alone, loving You?

You know my secret thoughts,

You know my heart's eagerness.

Why does dark death torture me every day?

How long will You delay, Mother?

How long will You delay?

As Jesus had Mary,

So are You my World-Mother.

Your Teachers

Let the sky

Become

Your teacher.

You will learn

How to serve.

Let the moon

Become

Your teacher.

You will learn

How to love.

Let the sun

Become

Your teacher.

You will learn

How to become.

Mother, if I lose to You
Mother, if I lose to You,

That is my only Victory.

Whatever I have given into Your Hands

Is my only savings.

To me the rest is of no value,

A mere waste,

And it only tortures me and

Stands as a burden on my way.

I cannot put it to use.

When I lose to You,

After I have achieved

My full realisation,

I know my greatest reward I shall receive.

My Teachers
My outer schoolteacher

Carefully tells me

What I can eventually achieve.

My inner schoolteacher

Compassionately tells me

What I can ultimately become.

My Beloved Supreme

Smilingly tells me

What I eternally am.

I Have Three Teachers

I have three teachers:

My soul, my heart and my mind.

My soul-teacher tells me

That it is not a difficult task

To love God.

My heart-teacher tells me

That it is not a difficult task

To love mankind.

My mind-teacher tells me

That it is absolutely

The most difficult task

To love myself.

Where are you?

Can you not see me

Inside the despair-grave?

O my hope,

Where are you?

Can you not grant me someday

The helmet of protection

And the crown of satisfaction?

Hope, my hope!

False Imagination

Who save that you have to renounce

Many things in your life?

You have to renounce only one thing:

Your false imagination,

The imagination that tells you

God does not love you

And care for you sleeplessly

And the imagination that tells you

You can never grow into

Another God.

Appreciation of Homer
~

O peerless poet, a wild mystery has veiled
Thy deathless life. Too little of Truth of thee
Our mind captures from hystory's drowsy core.
Thy vast adventure tales 'Illiad', 'Odyssey',
Are blazing flames of warrior-suns.
Although stone blind, thou wert the light of Greece.
Ever she breathes in thy sea of enormous pride.

Socrates

Although thy pen was silent, mute,
A sea of knowledge dire
In thee the world of yore had seized.
Thy voice was Spirit's fire.
All wealth and ease of the world sublime
Thy deeds were apt to disdain.
Therefore thy spouse, Xantippe,
Was tortured by a ceaseless pain.
Many a foe of giant cloud
Against thy knowledge stood.
But gloom saw its doom in thee,
With thee thy high manhood.

Plato

Plato, a man of noble birth and deeds-
Socrates conquered his life.
The words of his guide highly ever he preached.
His brain, a naked knife.
Through him his youth revealed an athlete great.
To him utterly owes
Philosophy and the budding minds of today.
Fearless, ever he glows.
The deathless day that brought his soul on earth
Appeared in secret again,
To close his diamond eyes and bind the world
With sombre ceaseless pain.

Aristotle

O Aristotle, O mind's vastness of your day,
Your youth was reckless and wild.
But your brain never exiled
The thought that clasped the myriad knowledge-ray.
Yours was the student Alexander the Great.

Slowly began to leak
With you, Aristotle; and now reigns a huge regret.

Family, Friends, And Freedom

...We must stand together
And make the decision
To end all of those things
That can bring, division.

Family, friends and freedom
Must go hand in hand
With tolerance for those
We may not understand.

Selfish greed and violence
And the "world corporation"
Will surely, be the downfall
Of, the worlds’ greatest Nation.

9/11 was the day
We got, our wake-up call
And we must, do our part
"All for one, and one for all".

THANKS for being born here
(Or, coming here to live)
We must do all we can
GIVING, all we can give...

NINE ELEVEN, SIX AND COUNTING

Nearly three thousand killed
On that sad and fateful day
And more dying all the time
Since our Nation lost it's way.

We went after the terrorists
Rightly, in Afghanistan
Then, the invasion of Iraq
Began that War of a flawed plan.

The Taliban and al-Qaeda
Were going down with their defeat
Then we quit, took Troops away
Before their demise was complete.

The most wanted man on Earth
Osama, is still on the run
We probably could have had him
If we'd finished, what we'd begun.

But now, Iraq is full of terrorists
They're running wild, far and wide
And each day we have more Muslims
Going over to the terrorist's side.

The Iraqis people must stand up
And learn to govern, their own way
Saddam is gone, and they are free
To speak out, and have their say.

Our Country is deep in debt
Our Troops, weary and spread thin
Bogged down in Iraq's civil war
That many say, we can not win.

Our borders are still wide open
People come and go as they please
Just like those from Nine Eleven
More cells can sneak in with ease.

There's many say we are no safer
And the World is in dire straits
And many who once stood beside us
Place blame on this United States.

And no, we never will forget
What happened that terrible day
And all those precious lives taken
Or the great price we had to pay.

But, there's thirty-eight hundred more
Who have paid the ultimate cost
As we wonder how many more
Family's loved ones must be lost?

We have too many brave Heroes
Who serve, and will maybe, die
As more and more people ask
Was this War worth it, and why?

As we mourn those from Nine Eleven
Let's add those lost, since, to our prayers
And show all who are serving now
We are a Nation, that truly cares.

Let them know, we want them Home
That, enough of them have died
That each, will get a Hero's welcome
For a job, well done, with Pride.

We have asked enough of them
Much more, than we should expect
But, they did, themselves Proud
And surely earned, our deep Respect!

A DAY TO REMEMBER

Anniversary is not a proper word
To mark the meaning of that day
And now, five years from that date
Is not nearly far enough away.

Too many families and loved ones
Still feel that pain down in their Soul
From the Towers to the Pentagon
To those who heard those words, “Let's roll!”

Hearts still ache and tears still flow
On the eleventh of another year
Those who lost will always miss
All those People they hold, dear.

There are still unanswered questions
For those who ask the reason, “Why?”
Was it really necessary
For all of those folks to die?

The nine/eleven Commission
They asked and probed and dug
Their many recommendations
Some dismiss, with just a shrug.

To correct all those problems
Will step on way too many toes
Might take some from their bottom line
We all know, that's the way it goes.

For those who make the rules
Most politicians are the same
The only thing they care about
Is to play the lobbyist's game.

If anything is to be done
The People, are who will make it so
We must write or fax or call
To make our Reps learn what we know.

Seems once they get elected
And they join that unique group
They forget from whence they came
And get caught up in the loop.

Not all of them are worthless
But seems there are very few
Who really want to do right
And represent me and you.

Our system is really broken
And there is really no quick cure
But at the polls in November
We can make a change, for sure.

So many things must be done
From our border to border
But there should be a sign in DC
That says it all, “Out of order!”

Some of the victim's families
Have been working every day
To try to make a difference
They could show us all, the way.

So as we celebrate the lives
And mourn all of those who died
In all their names we must try
To regain our Nation's pride.

“By and for the People”
Is the way that it should be
And whether it will or not
That is all up to you and me!

FOUR YEARS AND A WEEK OR SO

A week and more of suffering
From another Enemy
After four years of Heartache
In this Land Of The Free.

The Towers and the Pentagon
And Heroes of that fateful Flight
The total lost as yet unknown
From those of the Gulf Shore’s plight.

In both, the hindsight twenty, twenty
Unanswered questions asking, “Why?”
Will the next time be much better
Will we have learned or even try?

Will power struggles cost more lives?
Will they learn to communicate?
Or will it be the same old thing
As the bureaucrats seal our fate?

Nobody’s fault, but everybody’s
From the very bottom to the top
But using Human lives as pawns??
That really must come to a stop!

Some of us are very lucky
We watch the horrors from afar
We can go on with our lives
Never knowing, where those Victims are.

When just a little bit of planning
Could have saved some of those lost
There’s no excuses when prevention
Could be done at not near this cost.

If not for People helping People
And doing the task on their own
We would never see the Light
Where the American Spirit’s shone.

The politicians do their politics
And so-called leaders fight for turf
But, those with boots on the ground
Are the ones who show their worth.

We must have a true accounting
And not let those losses be in vain
We must fix whatever there is wrong
So this will never happen again.

While Osama still roams free
And with more Storms to come our way
Let’s all remember all those lost
Since that September Eleventh Day.

9/11 SHOW AND TELL

There’s many unanswered questions
That all those loved ones need to know
Maybe some important little things
Will help the healing, that goes so slow.

It’s not up to those in power
And officials who think it best
Everything must come out in the open
Before this thing can be put to rest.

The ones who grieve their losses
Are the ones who still pay everyday
And all they ask is for all the truth
For that price that they had to pay.

They should get all of the answers
At the least all that there are know
And not be tied up in the red tape
By some bureaucratic so and so.

THREE AND COUNTING

Another anniversary
Of our “day of infamy”
Of battles against terror
And it’s war’s casualty.

Osama still on the roam
And the borders, we control (?)
Filling up with terrorists
Who come to thwart our goal.

Maybe, “we can win” the war
Or, “maybe we can’t”
Depends on who you talk to
Who’ll give you a different slant.

But, ask the friends and families
Of those who have already “lost”
And those who march in “harm’s way”
Who, really pays the “cost”?

The bureaucrats and diplomats
Political/military brass
Tell us it’s all necessary
And that, this too, will pass.

But, ask those who build the bombs
And blow themselves, to “Kingdom Come”
Who think killing innocent people
Will take them to “Martyrdom”.

They have no respect for life
Or the consequence of actions
Using any means to an “end”
Of all non-Muslim factions.

Our Nation is sadly learning
What others already knew
That the terrorists will never quit
No matter what we do.

We’ve also learned a lesson
That we should have known
We must work with other Countries
Because, we’ll never win, alone.

Our Lawmakers are Too Busy

not taking care of our security and border

They are too busy doing nothing
And arguing about the same
Wasting our money and their time
With things like the "marriage" game.

Now they’re too busy getting ready
To go home until next year
Not thinking "the report" is scary
No, they don’t share our fear.

They don’t seem to think there’s danger
And the needed changes can wait
But, wonder what they will say
If they find out, next year was too late?

THE CHRISTIAN THING TO DO

Christian Regenhard

And the battle still goes on
Through the old bureaucracy
To make tall buildings safer
When there's an emergency.

The owners and builders
Need to spend a little more
To plan and build them better
From the bottom to top floor.

Lessons taught that fateful day
Must make us all duty bound
To make sure there is change
And that safer ways are found.

No doubt, lives could be saved
If we learn from Nine-Eleven
In the name of all those Souls
Who took that trip to Heaven.

IT’S NINE TO ELEVEN

Two years of hurt and misery
That seems, like yesterday
To think, it still brings tears
At least, does me that way.

Can’t imagine, with a loved one
Or, even a close friend
Guess, I could be far removed
It wasn’t mine, who met their end.

But, in that days’ memory
A little bit of each loved soul
Adds their little, special bit
That, makes up, the whole.

A small piece of all Americans
And, all people who live free
Bring a little something, to it
To what, the rest, will see.

So, we must show resolve
Not, let them see us sway
Except, when our heads bow
For, those lost, that day.

Nine days to eleven,

FOR THE KIDS

reading names on 9/11

The children of our future
Read the names of those passed
A tear was shed for every one
From the first to the last.

"Daddy, we miss and love you."
"Mom, you’re in my heart and prayers."
"My Brother, you’re my hero."
And, "We miss you.", from sisters.

Godfathers and Godmothers
Aunts, Uncles and all Kin
Were all named and honored
With loving feelings from within.

Some names were hard to say
But, the Kids did quite well
Loved ones knew, who they were
That was, easy, to tell.

They stood there before us
And got through it with few tears
With a presence and maturity
Far, beyond their years.

They did us proud, showed the world
The meaning, of "true grit"
And let all know, freedoms’ torch
Will forever, remain, lit.

THE FINAL SOLUTION

I couldn’t watch TV no more
My thirst had been fulfilled
I spent the day, hearing those
Whose loved ones had been killed.

I shed a tear (a bunch of them)
Although, I shouldn’t say
Because a real, grownup man
Should not act, that way.

He must be strong in his ways
And not show, if he cares
He must step up, not go back
As he climbs, those social stairs.

He can’t be honest to himself
Because, the truth, might feel
Like he’s never felt, before
Like, something, kinda real.

No wonder we won’t believe
In mankind’s evolution
Because his stupidity
Might be the real solution.

WORKING FOR THE DEVIL

Less than twenty-four hours
Until the anniversary
Of when we lost our innocence
In the land of the free.

We’ve had our share of tragedies
From Mother Nature and our own
But this terror from a foreign land
Is the worst, that we have known.

The sickest part about that day
Was the reasons that they claim
That they were doing the bidding
Carried out in their gods’ name.

Martyrs in their crazy minds
Headed for some promised land
But the Devil is who welcomed them
In the world of the damned.

The worst part about it all
Are the ones who’ll take their place
Who keep Satan alive and well
Within, the human race.

SEVEN, FOUR, SEVENTY-SIX

In the year of 1776
Dreams of Freedom were Declared
New to the World, a way of Life
No way, to be compared.

Through the years, embattled
Some,tried taking it away
But, it survived, though changed
To what we know, today.

They’ve brought terror to our shores
And threatened our security
Made us run for cover
In this Land of the Free.

They made us see the World
In a different kind of light
Of the jealousy and hate
That would have, Freedom take flight.

But, the Soul of a Free people
Will always rise above the rest
To show the tyrants of the World
That Truth, comes from the Test.

Though, nothing is ever perfect
And we learn through our mistakes
Liberty will be triumphant
No matter, what it takes.

Our People and the Stars and Stripes
Will always lead the way
Because we know, what it’s like
To have an, Independence Day.

A TOUCH IN THE WIND

It was, a day for reflection
Starting, calm and so serene
Then,wind from those "Towers"
Started blowing, in between.

The names of Souls, spoken
Seemed, to alter nature’s course
And what it seemed to be
They came to say, "Goodbye!", in force.

Reaching out and touching
All, who came to grieve
To say, "Get on with your life.
Because, we have to leave."

"But, we won’t go far.
We’ll be in every breeze.
And, if you listen, you will hear us
Rustling through the leaves."

"And, when those leaves have fallen
And the winters winds blow
Don’t worry, we’ll still be there
In every whirling flake of snow."

"Then when, the springtime comes
And all things grow, anew
Please take joy, in knowing
We’ll still be there, with you."

"They may have stopped our "being"
But, our Spirits, will soar
When you feel us in, the blowing winds
Where we’ll be, forever more."

Well, it’s been a year now
Since we had that nightmare
But, it seems like yesterday
With, all the pain still there.

Life for most goes on
But, for some, stands still
With that empty void inside
They try to find a way, to fill.

We can all reach out to them
And hold them in our heart
But we can’t mend the hurt
That, tears theirs, apart.

No matter how we try
And no matter what we say
There’s no way we can know
What they went through, that day.

It’s just one year of hurting
That will last their whole life through
Shared with all the teardrops
That were shed by me and you.

But, we must count our blessings

SIXTEEN ACRES

A few acres of heartache
Of, the most sacred ground
But, all "they" see is money
The most valuable, around.

We all know, who will win
It’s "them", with all the means
It won’t be the souls, that cry
From, those most horrific scenes.

And if "they" build, buildings
Each window, will show
The reflections of a life
Someone, will never know.

There will be, some peeking out
And, looking to the sky
To, see the crash, that took them
And ask, the question, "Why?"

There will be, some looking down
And, trying to find release
Amongst the structures that "they" build
But, there will be no peace.

They were killed in an attempt
To hurt, the almighty dollar
Now, "they" want to put the greed
Right back, into that "holler".

The most expensive land on Earth
With some(?) dollars, for each "BEING"
But, more profits for "the few"
Is all we will, be seeing.

That hallowed ground, is for the rich
To make, "their" profits soar
As if "they" didn’t have enough
All "they" want, is more.

Even, sixteen acres won’t replace
A small part, of the pain
Of, those lost souls, innocent
We’ll, never see again

For all the human race
Makes me feel ashamed inside
And, want to hide my face.

I know I’ve always known
How cruel, we all could be
But, in the past year
Saw, more, than, I should see.

Nobody deserves
The wrath of the hate
But, then I stop and think
I didn’t have to wait.

I’ve seen it all my life
But, didn’t care to look
Until, I started writing
And, put it in a book.

A book, I shouldn’t written
For, the words hurt so deep
And the memories I know
I know, I shouldn’t keep.

But, it will never change
Until, we’re no longer here
Because the human, is the death

FIVE MORE SIDES TO THE STORY

It seems the Towers and Flight 93
Dominate the headline news
But there were many others
Who were as painful to lose.

The men and women at the Pentagon
Who spend each and every day
Working to keep our world safe
And protect, "The American Way".

They could never have imagined
They were there, on the "front line"
In the battle to preserve the "Freedoms"
And the "Rights" of yours and mine.

In the midst of the "battle"
And beginning of the "war"
They stood, and faced the "enemy"
Did their "duty" and, so much more.

So many "heroes" in that building
That we will never, ever know
And so many acts of "bravery"
That the civil/military show.

We should all "salute" them
And bow our heads in prayer
To thank them for their sacrifice
To show them how much we care.

BUT, THE PEOPLE NEVER CAME!

On September eleventh
We all know, New York City
Was shrouded in a cloud
Of, the worst atrocity.

They waited in their scrubs
In the emergency room
Waiting for survivors
To be brought out of the gloom.

They waited on the sidewalks
Stretchers/wheelchairs at hand
Prepared for a disaster
They had, rehearsed and planned.

But, the people never came
As they waited through the night
Then, they began to realize
That, something wasn't right.

There should have been hundreds
Coming to them, needing care
And the hope started to fade away
As, they impatiently, waited there.

There were a few, brought in
And a few, came on their own
On this most horrific day
New York City's ever known.

They waited for the people
As thousands called, with a name
Searching for their loved ones
And friends, who never came.

The adrenaline was flowing
As they stood their sad vigil
Wondering when, the rush would start
But, believing that, "It will!"

The day and night came and went
As their hope, began to wane
And their pent-up energy
Turned to helplessness and pain.

Doctors, nurses, technicians
And so many volunteers
Thought of those who never came
And began to shed their tears.

Some still, with a shred of hope
That, in the days to come
Those survivors might be found
At the least, maybe some.

But, the people never came
That, they were waiting for
Because, they waited up above
To get through Heavens' door.

FIVE MORE SIDES TO THE STORY

It seems the Towers and Flight 93
Dominate the headline news
But there were many others
Who were as painful to lose.

The men and women at the Pentagon
Who spend each and every day
Working to keep our world safe
And protect, "The American Way".

They could never have imagined
They were there, on the "front line"
In the battle to preserve the "Freedoms"
And the "Rights" of yours and mine.

In the midst of the "battle"
And beginning of the "war"
They stood, and faced the "enemy"
Did their "duty" and, so much more.

So many "heroes" in that building
That we will never, ever know
And so many acts of "bravery"
That the civil/military show.

We should all "salute" them
And bow our heads in prayer
To thank them for their sacrifice
To show them how much we care.

NOT AGAIN?

I have the strangest feeling
That, on the anniversary
There's going to be another
Terrorist atrocity.

I think they'll try to do it
And this time, maybe more
Just to show us that, they can
Slip, once more through Freedoms' door.

It would really be a coup for them
To hit us on that day
Especially, if we let them
Once more, have their way.

They could shove it down our throats
And make us live in fear
Bring the war on terrorism
Right back, over here.

I hope that I am wrong
And there's nothing to it
But, I still have that feeling
That, they are going to do it.

THE BOTTOM OF THE PIT

They've emptied out the "Pit"
Of all of the debris
But, it's still overflowing
With the Souls you cannot see.

There's twenty-eight hundred plus
And friends and family left behind
Crying out for justice
For answers of some kind.

But it seems, there are no reasons
For such an EVIL deed
No reason for the horror
Sown from that hateful seed.

Some people say their "god" (?)
Will bless them for their act
For killing all those innocents
In their despicable attack.

But, if there is such a "god"
He must live down in Hell
And, if he isn't Satan
Must be, related to that Devil.

The God most people know
Would not condone such a crime
And will punish those responsible
When it comes their time.

He'll send them down into the "Pit"
And damn them for eternity
To burn forever with their "god"
Where they deserve to be.

OLD GLORY IN 2001

Those "STARS AND STRIPES" gained new meaning
In the year two thousand and one
It flew prouder over our Country
Where a new war had begun.

On September eleventh
"They" tried to bring it down
Along with those "Two Towers"
That came crashing to the ground.

But, the American people caught it
And held it high for all to see
This is still, "THE HOME OF THE BRAVE"
And, "THE LAND OF THE FREE".

Those people who do evil
Will shudder at the sight
As "OLD GLORY" catches them
In all it's power and might.

We might not always do justice
Under it's waving grace
But, it's meaning to Freedom
Will always stand it's place.

It's always been a symbol
And hope, for people in this world
It sends a very special message
Each time, it is unfurled.

The "STARS AND STRIPES" will wave
Those colors, "RED, WHITE, AND BLUE"
As long, as there are Freedom lovers
Or all life on Earth, is through.

FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND FREEDOM

This year is more important
Than any, we have known
To, appreciate those lessons
We, sadly, have been shown.

In one day, we have learned
That, "this land of the free"
Has been changed forever
From what, it used to be.

We’ve taken it for granted
Free, from the strife of war
Fought, in some foreign land
Brought to, our home shore.

This battle must be waged
Each, and every day
If we hope, to preserve
"The American way".

We must stand together
And make the decision
To end all of those things
That can bring, division.

Family, friends and freedom
Must go hand in hand
With tolerance for those
We may not understand.

Selfish greed and violence
And the "world corporation"
Will surely, be the downfall
Of, the worlds’ greatest Nation.

9/11 was the day
We got, our wake-up call
And we must, do our part
"All for one, and one for all".

THANKS for being born here
(Or, coming here to live)
We must do all we can
GIVING, all we can give.

Thanksgiving Day, 2001
Of history’s’ turning page
Is the first day of the war
For Peace, that we must wage.

"LET'S ROLL"

They were on a flight
Going from here to there
Just another day
Each one, without a care.

Some were on a cell phone
With loved ones or business
What they all talked about
We can only guess.

Then they got the news
About WTC
And then they realized
The next one is "we".

Some of them were moved forward
The rest moved to the rear
And it's hard to imagine
The helplessness and fear.

But, they must have got to talking
And figured out their plight
That in the list of "bombers"
They were, the next "flight".

Wonder what went through their minds
And how much, they were "scared"
But, when they thought, " The USA"
Realized, how much they cared.

We think about our "heroes"
And those on the "front line"
Then, we all heard, "Let's roll"
They knew, that it was time.

To step up and sacrifice
Whatever, it may take
And made the call, most of us
Won't ever have to make.

They went down in Victory
The first against the terrorists
Showed the will of Americans
Is strong, and still exists.

They stood up for America
Knew what they had to do
And let's not ever forget
They did it, for me and you.

Nobody will ever know
What went on on that plane
We just know, it added to
The misery and pain.

We all had, had enough
On that September day
But, they just gave us more
To pray for, the same way.

Another bunch, of the lost souls
We lost on nine-eleven
But they aren't lost for they found
Their little niche in heaven.

WHERE WAS I?

I was feeling kind of ill
And stayed home that day
Was watching the morning news
As usual, that's my way.

Katie, Matt, Ann and Al
Were doing what they do best
But, little did they know
About that day of "our test".

I don't remember what the "news" was
Probably the same old thing
There were some elections
Part of what, makes "Freedom Ring".

Then, the "breaking news"
About a "terrible accident"
Even that was bad enough
But, much worse, where it went.

I called a friend at work
And while I talked to her
The second plane struck
And then I felt the "terror".

The tears began to flow
And my heart began to ache
As I hoped, it was a bad dream
Or some terrible mistake.

But, as that day went on
In a blurred, slow motion haze
I realized our country's history
Had moved to an unknown phase.

The security of our borders
Had been forever changed
And they way we think about ourselves
Drastically re-arranged.

We're in the "real world" now
And, that's so sad, I thought
But, we'll have to make the best of it
Whether we like it, or not.

A year has come, to pass
But, that day will linger here
In my heart and mind
As, I shed another tear.

I hope we've learned some lessons
But, I do it with some doubt
Because, hate, greed and jealousy
Is, what mankind seems to tout.

911 ON 9-11

You cowards of the world
Don't think, you can rejoice
For, hear this message loud and clear
From one, united voice.

The civilized among us
Will make you rue this day
And you'll find it won't be worth
The price, you'll have to pay.

Some say they are "holy wars"
But that mighty supreme being
Must be cringing from the sights
That He has been seeing.

I bet He never dreamed
That He'd created such as you
That the Devil could possess
And make you do what you do.

He didn't create life on Earth
To destroy one another
You might think you'll go to Heaven
But, you'll end up in the "other".

When people kill their fellowman
In the name of their "Maker"
All of them end up as
The worst kind of "forsaker".

Religious zealots have killed more
Than, for any other reason
And it has been the worst kind
Of, what some may call treason.

An affront to all that's right
That's decent and humane
Strong beliefs are okay
Until, they become, INSANE!

You didn't strike America
You hurt every human soul
And you gave us all resolve
To thwart your evil goal.

You are less than animals
Worse than rats from the sewer
A mutant of our species
That this world has to endure.

But, your days are numbered
Hear this, above the painful wail
That people of good will and heart
Are the ones, who will, prevail..

CATHEDRAL OF TEARS

Jutting from the rubble
Up through the smoky haze
Like spires of a Cathedral
Where the "believer" prays.

Seven stories of heartache
Left from the hundred-ten
Of those two mighty towers
Never to be seen again.

For thousands who have perished
And the loved ones they leave
A monument to all of us
Who shed our tears, and grieve.

In its eerie setting
There was a sort of beauty
Standing guard over those
Who died doing their duty.

A strange sense of peace
Amidst the scene of ruin
As others search for comrades
Who died, doing what they're doing.

There's been heroes by the hundreds
And some stories, never known
But in God's Cathedral
They'll sit upon His throne.

The "Cathedral Of Tears"
Will last in our mind's eye
As we bow our heads
And ask, "Why, dear Lord? Why?"

THE WHOLE HEARTLAND

I wrote about the heartland
When the Murrah Building fell
And I thought at that time
We'd had a taste of "hell".

But, to see "The Towers"
Over NYC
Fall into the ground
Took, the heart out of me.

Knowing all those souls
With nowhere to run
Like looking down the barrel
Of a cocked, loaded gun.

Watching people jump
To a certain, horrid death
Made me wonder what I'd say
With my last, final breath.

Or looking out the window
To watch, that "hell" doomed plane
As it crashed into me
Through, that shattered window pane.

The terror in my mind
And my helpless reeling
As my body blew away
Into that deathly feeling.

Knowing all those loved ones
That I would never see
Would bow their heads in sorrow
And say, a prayer for me.

But, prayers don't seem to do
All that, we think they should
And most the time we wonder
If prayers do any good.

Does "He" really care?
Has "He " ever heard?
Does, "He" really listen
To, our "private word"?

And if, "He" does hear them
Why does "He" forsake "them"
When we try to do it right
Even, followed by "Amen".

Can "He" be so cruel
That, "He" will make us pay
For, that "bite of the apple"
That, sent us all this way.

I guess, sometimes the "Devil"
Might have the upper hand
And give us pain and heartbreak
So, we will understand.

We have to take the good things
That, delve into our heart
As well, as the bad
That, break our heart, apart.

A DIFFERENT CALLING

This year the "Memorial" has changed
It's different than those past
A different kind of war
From a different, "stone cast".

The battle is at Freedom's doorstep
With heroes of a different kind
Now, all of us are "Soldiers"
Against, the terrorists "sick" mind.

Civilians have always been
A part of every war
But, in this day and age
We must do, so much more.

If we expect to win this Battle
We must all join hands
In a strong, determined circle
With, Freedom lovers from all lands.

This world has changed forever
"The American Way"
There's so much more at stake
Than, the way we live and play.

Since 9-11 we're learning
The horrors of this world
Can even come to where
Freedoms Flag is, unfurled.

This day was meant to Honor
All, Military Heroes have endured
Now, we all could join their Ranks
If our resolve, is not assured.

So, let us all take a moment
To respect all those, "Fallen"
And vow, we're all up to the task
Of this, different "Calling".

VETERANS ALL

Well! We're in a different world
Than, what, we ever knew
It will never, be the same
As it was, for me and you.

I think that, since 9/11
Some words forever changed
Like the meaning of "Veteran"
Has been, re-arranged.

Now, we all are fighters
For our "freedoms' cause"
If we don't stand, be counted
We'll have lost, "the cause, that was!"

On this Veterans' Day
In this "land of the free"
We honor those, who gave all
Those with us, and those, yet to be.

We honor those who perished
In attacks upon our shore
And those hunting evildoers
Who came through our "open door".

We honor all Americans
And freedom lovers of the world
Where flags like, "The Stars And Stripes"
Fly in the breeze, unfurled.

I think from this day forth
All patriotic celebrations
Will always give us pause
To these new, realizations.

We must rid this Earth
Of those "Devils" and their goals
With terror on their minds
Within their hateful souls.

So, here's to all the Veterans
Who have made "Freedom Ring"
And, those around the world
Who know! We have a "special" thing

JULY THE FOURTH, TWO THOUSAND TWO

I wonder what those folks would think
(Those, who wrote our Freedom's Declaration)
Would they believe, those happenings
That have, forever changed our Nation.

Would they believe, some terrorists
Are, from our Country, homegrown
Spreading hate, death, and destruction
In the Homeland of their own.

Would they believe our "open door"
Has ushered in our enemy
Those who believe we're evil
And don't believe in Liberty.

What would they think, if they could see
Crime running rampant, in the street
Guns, drugs, and homeless people
And so many more, locked-in, retreat.

Would they believe, Freedoms treasured
Have been twisted all around
To where the criminals civil rights
Beat the victims, to the ground.

Would they believe, that businesses
Most of them, big and small
Treat their employees as the pawns
To reach, "the bottom line", that's all.

Would they believe, those voted to Office
Who we should trust, to guide the way
Can't be trusted, most of the time
To live up to what, they say.

What would they think, would they rewrite
And would they take exceptance
To what we did, with what they wrote
In The Declaration Of Independence.

SEVEN COME ELEVEN

On this day we remember
That "day of infamy"
And sadly we understand
More than we want to see.

A "sneak attack" on Freedom
And the American way
Brought back to reality
On Septembers’ eleventh day.

Thousands died in forty-one
With so many not retrieved
Resting in their watery grave
O’er which friends and family grieved.

Now we have another place
Known to all, as "Ground Zero"
Where we have another bunch
Of, the American Hero.

Sixty years of times’ passage
Hasn’t changed the "Patriot"
Hasn’t dampened our resolve
To remember, not, forget.

Those who gave their, "all"
And those, still yet, to "give"
Standing for, protecting
The kind of life, we live.

The casualties of war
Don’t always bear a gun
But, they all are Heroes
When all is said and done.

Now, we have another one
Of those "infamous" days
With the horrible cost
That Freedom, often, pays.

"Not Uniform"

They put on the uniform
And badge of silver/gold
And, it's been that way
Since the days of old.

They stand tall and take an oath
Swear, "To protect and serve."
But, it seems, they never get
The praise that they deserve.

They put their life on the line
And they don't fear the cost
Until their friends and families
Have to pay the "final cost".

We don't want them till we need them
And sometimes they'll seal our fate
Sometimes, they come too soon
And sometimes they come too late.

But, they are always willing
To come to our rescue
Or to help us with some things
Important, to me and you.

Sure! There are some bad ones
But most, are the very best
Who aren't afraid to stand firm
Face and pass the "final test".

We have to stand behind them
For they are all we've got
Between us and "the bad guys"
Who care for a lot of naught.

THE FIFTH OF THE ELEVENTH

A five year anniversary
From that day we came of age
When we really saw the terror
From this World’s awful rage.

The hate of Godless people
Who say they have the faith
Who kill themselves and others
Like some unholy wraith.

We learned that our borders
Are really open to the rest
Of those who would do us harm
And put our Nation to the test.

I wonder if we learned our lesson
And it doesn’t seem that’s so
It seems we try to ignore things
Or else, pretend we don’t know.

We leave those borders open
They come and go as they may
And as these times are showing
There’ll be worse to come one day.

Since then, we’ve been at way
And though our enemies were known
We keep losing souls in battles
Where no true danger was shown.

We see parting families hurting
As they tell loved ones goodbye
And worse, the pain and sadness
When loved ones get hurt or die.

Now we have a breeding ground
Where those terrorists can train
Killing our bravest Soldiers
As Muslims treat us with disdain.

We’re not making many friends
And as for National Security
It doesn’t seem we’re any safer
Than what we thought we used to be.

Bin Laden is still running free
And Al Qaeda never went away
And the terrorists numbers
Just keep growing, day by day.

We don’t have the will or way
To pay for all of those means
So we don’t have to see another
Of those horrific, deadly scenes.

We’ll just wait until it happens
And wonder why we were so slow
To take those safety measures
While some say, “We told you so!”

The lobbyists and politicians
Are going to get their pork, first
Then, what’s left goes to the people
After they have quenched their thirst.

Oh, let’s not forget other countries
Who get billions from our aid
And though they say they owe us
The bill never seems to get paid.

This World really is a different place
And it will never be the same
With all of these people hating
And all in some god’s name.

So, as we mark this anniversary
Of that Eleventh of September
Let’s just hope that is the worst
That, we’ll have to remember.

LIFE: THE UNFINISHED BUSINESS

The acts of men sometimes come so kind
And with such love do well express, yet
The deeds of men sometimes come so mean
And with great disgust is well despised.
These conflicts unresolved for times,
Someday, somewhere resolves to meet.

Between the times of history gone,
And the evolutions of future come
The present presents a balance point
In a mixing grill of settlement, where
Deeds and events do take their toll
In resolutions of investments made.

Mishap could be just a fair reward,
As life fortune is investment gained.
Opportunity could be just a means,
As occurrences are results obtained.
The pendulum swings to and fro,
Just as the clock ticks, tock and tick.

What goes on around and again,
Does come back again and around
Good or bad, it's all our choice,
For all our thoughts and acts today,
Are investments in the big game plan
Of this unfinished business of life.

Uncertain at best
Hard it is, facing the test

Facing the odds
We hurt our toes
We pound our backs

It’s like a game
And we must choose
To play with care

If we must win
And wish to gain
We must own our own

To make the start
To clean our art
We must face our act

For life to pass
Changes will pass
And this too will pass

Resurrection of The Prince Within

And when the prince has toured the world
In search of the glory that he had lost,
Led astray by the illusions of his ego,
He comes to the threshold of reality
Always and ever waiting for his knock.

And when the prince abandons his ego,
And in humility accepts his fallacies,
He unburdens his mind of its illusions
And open in him a room for revelation
Of that which has hitherto been in him.

And thus in humbling of the little self,
The prince is exalted to higher realms,
Where he shall unite in identification,
With the true self and essence he truly is,
Always have been and always will be.

PARADOXICAL ODDS

The end is begun
Where the circle to a point comes
The edge is centered
Where the balance to an angle shifts
The pair is single
Where the crowd to a person comes.

There under lies another top,
Just beneath the surface.
Somewhere deep within,
The middle stays above,
For it is by the stakes,
That the contest is won or lost.

The rolls are reversed,
And the last in time is thus the first.
The box is flattened,
And the square is rounded to a spot.
The conclusion is resolved
And the cycle is ended to begin again.

DREAMING OR NOT

As in my dreams
We've brought alive
That special feeling,
And no longer now
Can I the difference tell,
If it is, a dream or not.

Yet one thing remains
In all I know;
There's something here
We have in common
In flesh or spirit
I care no more,

For either way,
It's ours for keeps.
I touch your substance
And feel your affection,
As you do the same
Of me in love.

Grateful and happy
For what we've found
In each others heart,
We can now go forth
Sharing the gift (of love),

I wait not for thy appointed day,
For in it you instill thy fright
And trouble the minds and thoughts
Of those who fall to thy illusion.

Admonish thy angel not to come,
For I shall acquaint myself
On how to die even daily,
Like travelers of the far country,
I too shall someday know the route,
From this world to the one beyond,
To transit at will over and again,
Loosing all fear that may lie.

LIFE: THE UNFINISHED BUSINESS

The acts of men sometimes come so kind
And with such love do well express, yet
The deeds of men sometimes come so mean
And with great disgust is well despised.
These conflicts unresolved for times,
Someday, somewhere resolves to meet.

Between the times of history gone,
And the evolutions of future come
The present presents a balance point
In a mixing grill of settlement, where
Deeds and events do take their toll
In resolutions of investments made.

Mishap could be just a fair reward,
As life fortune is investment gained.
Opportunity could be just a means,
As occurrences are results obtained.
The pendulum swings to and fro,
Just as the clock ticks, tock and tick.

What goes on around and again,
Does come back again and around
Good or bad, it's all our choice,
For all our thoughts and acts today,
Are investments in the big game plan
Of this unfinished business of life.

Life Is A Vacation

At birth we started a long vacation
Some vacation becomes too long
Some there duration very brief
Whether long or brief we still vacate

The schedule starts at infancy
Some schedule are tight and others very loose
However we accomplish only what's destined

On this vacation we climb mountains
And make a descent of valleys
These are the contours of life
For it is filled with ups and downs

Life is a serious vacation
Where success and failures combines
Where some turns out wise
And others remain perpetually foolish
And another category remains on the fence
This the vacation of life

WHAT IF LIFE?,

What if life only lasted a day,
Do you think we'd appreciate it better?
What if life was like hell,
Do you think we would dream?
About a life like we have now?
What if in life we had everything,
Do you think it would get boring?
Why want another life?
Your life is perfect already

LIFE,

If life where the wind
We would travel the ocean
We would understand the seas
And every moment,
If life were the wind
We'd always be flying
Life would blow by without us knowing
Where would time go?
Would there be such a thing?
We would enjoy every moment
From a higher perspective

LOOKING THROUGH A BUM'S EYES

I am a bum.
I am your worst nightmare but I do not care.
I have great insight and wisdom so let me share.
I have seen night and I also seen day.
I have seen happiness and I have seen pain.
I have witnessed the sane and the insane.
When you are thinking that you are really intact with the
world you are really living in this whirlwind.
So when you see me on the corner
Please pay me some mind.
Maybe you can see the world
through more than your eyes.

SPIRIT OF SOUL,

"The heart of love knows the spirit of Soul,
And by the present practice of this perspective,
Shall the journey home be commenced,
And someday our destination shall meet within
To discover again, the true substance we are."

And what is Soul but that I am;
The substance of beingness,

BOUNDARIES

The four walls fortifying the realms
make it to yell beyond the walls,
The fetters that build it to quell
the fondle triggers a wobbly,
Staggering changeling.

This child edify natures
statue that which bonds
till the pyre, an incredible
Crinkle deep in the roots,
An infamous urge
To crackle the chains.

Passionate bird that
migrate miles;
A jubilant dolphin
that divulge to ether;
A giraffes head
that jettisons out;
All of these are
Mothers credential.

HEART TO HEART

Heart to heart we must live
With no stress nor strain
And with no limit but in infinity
As our hearts mingle and co-join

Heart to heart we shall dwell

We shall have peace of the soul
And no hindrance shall hinder

Forgiveness is king

Hatred comes from hearts
That have drowned their love
Enmity thrives in hearts
For whom God means no love.

War comes from hearts
That have dwarfed their brotherhood
Mayhem grows amidst faults
Unreconciled for the boom of good.

Forgiveness blossoms from hearts
That discover triumph in humility
Vendetta moulds around hearts
Like caves plundered by brutality.

When emotions trample over wisdom
We must step backwards and pause
For revenge is like a curse
It denies souls the triumph of freedom.

FRIENDS

Justin Dear Friend
Jason F. Miller
Having someone in life.
Someone kind, Loving,
Caring, but Generous,
Living in a world full of hate
Crying myself to sleep,
After one, changing life forever
Ten forty-five, cold December night,
Crushing metal all around,
Glass and tears on the ground,
Pain the say,
Pain we feel,
Pain in heart,
Pain in steel,
Death the say you feel calm,
Some as cold as there palm,
Peace they say, the end is nigh,
Can't feel much, but IM hold'n on,
Years to come years to go,
Good-bye dear friend

"To Sgt. Damion Scott:

My heart Is Deployed With You"

When I lie down to sleep at night
I stare at the ceiling with thoughts of you
How you use to make the bad things right
And all the crazy things we'd do

When we were young, we'd laugh and play
Which most time would turn into a fight
We'd make up by the end of the day
And laugh and play for the rest of the night

We have grown, me a woman and you a man
You joined the army and got a wife
We keep in touch as much as we can
Because you are a special part of my life

You had a child, a beautiful girl
And for three years, your life was just right
Then the Lord had hurt my world
When you were called to Kuwait to fight

I know that you will be safe though
Because the Lord he is our friend
And it's hard to let my feelings not show
I just hope and pray that this war would end

I just want you to know that I miss you so
Blessed are you and the other soldiers, too
And I also wanted the whole world to know
Just how much that I love you.

ORDER OF THINGS

There is a rightful order found
Beyond the things that seem to be,
Something beneath the surface seen
Hidden behind prevalent schemes.

I know this fact through feelings felt
in such relief that come to mind,
When in life I do my bit
And leave results to Spirit's will.

There is a rightful order found
In which Spirit our lives arrange,
Giving us what we rightly earn
With precision in circumstance,

Designed to rhyme and meet somehow
In a rightful order, time, and place.

I THINK SADNESS REALLY ,

I stand alone on silent nights,
my scares of feelings dawn new light.
I cannot reap a soul nor weep,
and at night I cannot sleep.
For the demons wake in silent beds,
to pull all my fears and dread.
I must stay on my chosen path;
hope to outrun their gentle wraith.
I cannot stop 'til peace has shone,
but then I fear I am all alone.
Like a candle I flicker light,
shedding tears and shedding fright.
The people cling with all their might,
to hold to my dieing light.
My fears and dreams came close to thee,
stop what's right for me.
All but your presence is unknown,
how can I make all seem alone?
it brings so much strength to stop these tears;
Yet somehow your touch will wash my fears.

Just to see what it would do
Now, we know, because I don't have you.
We were all partying
And having a good time,
Now its destroyed my life.
Why God??? Why mine??
It took you and tore you apart.
Now the only pain I feel is deep
Deep in my heart.
You died in my arms,
I wish it were a lie,
But now you're gone
Because that night we got high.

I LOVE YOU LINDSEY

I try to remember that night long ago
The 22nd of December, that day my sister had to go

God summoned her home that night
So to heaven she went
A year younger was I
Three years here she had spent

Mom says we were close
And my sister loved me so
For when the time came that mom feared the most
She just really didn't want to go

Sixteen long years have passed slowly by
I think about my sister all of the time
And as I look up into the clear blue sky
I wonder no more cause I know she is fine

There will come a day when we will meet again
And the memories we shared will come flooding in

But for now she's in heaven
Looking down upon me
I just want her to know this
I love you Lindsey.

POET FOR REASON

My mother wanted me to be a Doctor
To heal her infirmities
No, I'll be a Poet
Poetry heals the worst infirmities
On souls that Doctors cannot.

She wanted me to be a Pharmacist
Who'd produce drugs of armor
No, I'll be a Poet
Poetry is David's armor
Against Goliaths that defy drugs.

She wanted me to be a Soldier
So with barrels I'll fight her wars
No, I'll be a Poet
Poetry makes barrels sleep with woes
Poetry makes barrels dumb to trigger.

She wanted me to be a Merchant
To garner the wealth of merchandise
No, I'll be a Poet
Poetry on marble wisdom inscribes
Is that not a wealth for eternity?

Reality World

Those who took us for what we are
will live to rejoice with us
what they never knew we were.

Those who rejected us for what we were
will live to tell their friends
what good it was they missed in us.

Those who despised our huts
will miss the world of fortune
attendant to kings that lived with us.

Those who derided the slippers we wore today
will announce to their friends
how well new shoes fit into our feet.

Those who refused our embrace of short arms
will live to tell their friends how much love
radiated from the short hugs we gave.

Those who believed only because they saw
will tell generations of near-misses
they achieved for striving to see contents before boxes.

For the wisdom of the ancients
always lay beneath the earth
and reality, beneath the world unseen.

SONG OF ADMONITION

Africa:
My ancestors taught you
You refused the counsel of the wise
What new knowledge will I teach you
As I do not breed Solomon's blood?

Africa:
Learn this song I sing
Never let it slip like rain and moon
Look and see your children cry
As burdens of hunger suck them dry.

Africa:
Hear and see them writhe
In agonies of disharmony they fry
As wars rip their skulls
So in grief and weary do my heart bleed.

Africa:
Thus will my ancestors and I bleed
Till you rid your camps of manless men
Whose spirits paddle our lives
In the seas of death where they live.

Without You -- A lover's song

What can thinking mean
Without thinking of you
And remembering my Jinn
Many miles from you.

What sugar can be sweeter
And honier than your love
What a world in a tether
To live without my life's shroff.

What on earth to meditate on
If not of your solemnity
How can I validate the motion
Of life without you but nonentity.

I cannot help but embrace you
I must not kiss without embrace
Life will be lonely and miserable too

Rhythms from the heart

We sing this song all day long
It is lyrics of hope
To despairing hearts
Who sit forlorn in tattered hearts
Hearts arched by angels of vicissitudes
Hearts which crevices host verdrigis.

We sing this song, we will never wait
It is quick song of love
To bodies charcoaled by hate
Smouldering from armpits of dragons
Whose chests and hands
Wear embroideries of wickedness.

We sing this song, hymn of deliverance
It is solfa of extended ropes
Into the stomach of abyss;
We sing to hands dwarfed
By the deafness of rescuers
Who boast not of victims defrosted.

PEARL HARBOR TO 911; EVERLASTING CHANGES

From the rubbles of pearl harbor
To the collapse of twin towers 911
I marvel at the desecration of our freedom
And salute the resilience of our might

On each occasion cry for our mother country
I cry for the falling heroes that bless our landscapes
The ones that sheds the sacrificial blood
That keep us focused and bold

From rubbles to rubbles, our ashes ascends heaven
Received by the almighty, He sends His blessings to fortify us
To make us better children for the world
The world shocked by a jolt to our foundation

At Pearl Harbor we shivered
At WTC coiled in to our souls
Senses could not understand the mayhem
Eyes could not believe the atrocities
The desecration of our land

On these occasions we came out outrageos
Smoking with anger and anguish
Asking innumerable questions with innumerable answers
Yet we could not see where we sinned
Against these enemies without conscience
Against men and women that became beast
Against the inhuman assault on our country

The world stood still, the time piece refused to still
Telling us that the struggle must continue
Justice must prevail to let light overcome darkness
The world listened to our cries
The birds of the earth refused singing
Because there is no joy on this infirmly day

The wave of our ocean rose in ferocity
Overflowing bounds and boundaries
Bubbling and boiling for action
To decimate these beast in human skin

These actions are deterrents
To restore our dignity and might
To restore honor to future generations
And keep democracy flowing in our blood,& souls

WHEN THY YOUTH IS SET TO LEAVE

When thy youth is set to leave
He said his voice so deep and soft.
And it is thy old age time to race,
But old age only can drag and shove,
Will some youth be in thee reserved?
To give support to thy old age race?
Or will thy habits be stuck in thee
To spoil thy fun of old age rest?

Again I ask thee he reached to him,
When thy youth is set to flee,
And the fountain of youth in thee
Has reached its topmost peak at end,
And old age knocks the door of life,
What in thee will flee with youth?
And what in youth will stay in thee
To keep the company old age craves?

I speak, I ask, but I tell thee too
He said with piercing eyes of blue,
Though thy aim when young is wild,
Do watch and make thy self to know:
When thy freedom is spent in waste,
Cause fun and joy in youth abused,
Becomes a debt when old to pay,
For what you sow is what you reap.

WE WILL LIVE AGAIN!

As the dust settle,
Residents of the nation,
Ever blessed country
Comb the carnage, and
Ransack the wreckage,
Picking up the pieces
Of their shredded lives,
And shattered dreams.

Once the land of honey/oil,
Now dried by greed.
Once a dear native land,
Now dogged by violence.
Where tribe and tongue
Though always differed,
Yet in brotherhood stood,
Now in hatred all severed.

Ashes of burnt houses,
Remnants of horror,
And lifeless bodies,
Litter the sordid streets
In pervaded desolation.
And so you expect,
A people pooped,
Worn out and withered.

But instead you find,
A people hopeful,
For in their eyes,
I see their future.
These besieged cities,
Will rise again.
And in this nation,
We will live again.

Immortality

I feel in all my limbs His boundless Grace;
Within my heart the Truth of life shines white.
The secret heights of God my soul now climbs;
No dole, no sombre pang, no death in my sight.

No mortal days and nights can shake my calm;
A Light above sustains my secret soul.
All doubts with grief are banished from my deeps,
My eyes of light perceive my cherished Goal.

Though in the world, I am above its woe;
I dwell in an ocean of supreme release.
My mind, a core of the One's unmeasured thoughts;
The star vast welkin hugs my Spirit's peace.

My eternal days are found in speeding time;
I play upon His Flute of rhapsody.
Impossible deeds no more impossible seem;
In birth chains now shines Immortality.

Silence

Life needs and wants victory, but the victory that we achieve in the world of sound does not last for long. This victory is very fleeting. The victory that we achieve in the world of silence is everlasting, and each time a victory dawns in this inner world we feel that we are being prepared for a higher and more fulfilling victory in tomorrow's Dawn. 1

An ordinary man thinks either that silence cannot be achieved or that it is of no avail. But a seeker knows that silence can be achieved on the strength of his inner cry. He also knows that silence is of tremendous importance, for without silence we cannot see the face of Truth or grow into the very image of Truth and Light. Silence is within but we have to discover it. Unless and until we discover our inner silence, we cannot feel that we are of God and for God. Inner silence is not just the absence of thoughts. No! Silence is the blossoming of our indomitable inner will. Silence is our inner wisdom-light. This wisdom-light is our conscious and constant surrender to the Will of our Inner Pilot, who inspires us, encourages us and guides us to the Shores of the Golden Beyond. 2

Silence is preparation, our preparation for God's examination. We come to know God's Hour only when we observe silence, only when we dive deep within. An unaspiring person does not and cannot know God's Hour. If God's Hour dawns in his life he fails to notice it. But a seeker who practises silence every day for half an hour or an hour knows when God's Hour is going to strike. And God not only tells him when the Hour will strike but also, like a private tutor, helps the seeker to pass his inner examination. 3

Silence is our protection. When we live in silence, we are protected by God's mightiest Power, His all-illumining Light. At that time the negative forces of fear, doubt, anxiety, worry, insecurity and selfishness can have no access to our inner being. We are protected by God within and without at every moment. Silence is our transformation. When we observe silence consciously, our outer being is transformed. This transformation is a great achievement for Mother Earth. When a human being is transformed, Mother Earth feels that she has achieved something momentous, something that can be kept for Eternity for the rest of humanity to treasure. And this transformation becomes a foundation for a higher and mightier achievement in the ever-continuing process of evolution. 4

Silence is our willpower. This willpower conquers the very pride of ignorance-night and manifests the Light of Divinity's Delight in aspiring souls who want to climb up to the highest pinnacle and bring down the message of Immortality to earth. Our human mind says, "Silence is emptiness; it is sheer emptiness and nothingness." But our aspiring heart knows that silence is the fulness and plenitude of our Eternity's Height and Infinity's Light.

Infinity is that.

Infinity is this. 11

From Infinity, Infinity has come into existence. 12

From Infinity, when Infinity is taken away, Infinity remains. 13

This is the message that we get from silence. Again, the soul tells us that silence is oneness, our inseparable oneness, our universal oneness with the Pilot Supreme. 14

Silence is our Truth-consciousness, our highest Reality. This Reality in the inner world is our divine Love, our supreme Love for the world at large. And this Reality in the outer world is the supreme Glory of the Supreme for aspiring humanity. 15

Here we are all seekers. At times we are prone to watch our weaknesses, incapacities, limitations and imperfections. When we do this we are bound to be disappointed with ourselves. But our inner silence illumines us. It says, "Don't be disappointed. It is God within you who is going through a series of experiences in and through your imperfections." When we realise God, we see that these imperfections were necessary at the time for our evolution. And then, when they were no longer necessary, these imperfections were turned into perfections. From darkness we enter into Light. From the unreal we enter into Reality. From death we enter into Immortality.

Lead me from the unreal to the Real. 20

Lead me from darkness to Light. 21

Lead me from death to Immortality. 22

Silence tells the seeker in us to love, to love himself. It tells us it is wrong to hate ourselves because of our imperfections. When the seeker loves himself, loves the Divine within himself, he eventually realises the Ultimate Truth. Then he comes to realise that it was not he who loved the Divine in himself, but it was God the Lover who loved God the eternal Beloved Supreme within him. 23

In Heaven God is Silence-dream. On earth God is Reality-Sound. In His Silence, God prepares Himself. Through His cosmic Sound, God manifests Himself. The transcendental Silence is our Source, and the emanating sound is our manifestation. The higher we go, the deeper the silence we enjoy. And the deeper the silence we enjoy, the more fulfilling the manifestation of our divinity.

Ann: What is the sound that we sometimes hear in a river? 25

Sri Chinmoy: It is the sound of movement and forward progress. It is progressing towards its destination. Movement can occur at one spot. Somebody can be singing and dancing in the same spot. A runner can be jogging in the same spot, lifting his legs. But he can also run forward. 26

Similarly, a river is the movement of consciousness. A river has water and water signifies consciousness. When the river flows it is the forward movement of consciousness. The sound of a river that we hear is the sound that embodies the forward movement of consciousness.

Silence, the Essence of Siva.

My Silence

My silence bridges the gulf between my life's success
and my life's failure.
My silence does not magnify my defects.
Nor does it connive at them.
My silence transforms my defects into strength indomitable.

My silence is a climbing flame that warms my world of despair.
My silence is my inner light.
No problem of mine can defy solution.
My silence is a selfless distributor of joy to ever-widening horizons.

In my silence I become a man of sterling character,
a prolific writer, a voracious reader, a divine lover,
a profound inspirer and a triumphant liberator.

In my deep silence I never become a victim to ignorance,
the greatest calamity that can befall any human being.
In my growing silence I am convinced that even as a man on this earth I shall be able to reach heights, transcendental, divine.
My glowing silence alone can accelerate my
Godward march.

My spreading silence makes me see, feel and possess satisfaction,
unalloyed satisfaction.
No more have I to let loose a tirade of tenebrous dissatisfaction.

In activity and vitality I proudly and wrongly feel that
I shall have to take care of the whole world.
In the heart of silence I humbly and unmistakably realise
That it is the Divinity within the world that took care,
takes care and shall for ever take care of the entire world.

Silence is my unceasing petition.
Silence is my unreserved preparation.
Silence is my unlimited realisation.
Silence is the unfathomable fount of my life here on earth, there in Heaven.

What God's Silence is . . .
is the Eternal Truth.
What God's Silence serves is the Eternal Purpose.
What God's Silence becomes is the inevitable Fulfilment.

Ocean Oneness

Silence is round me, wideness ineffable;
White birds on the ocean diving and wandering;
A soundless sea on a voiceless heaven,
Azure on azure, is mutely gazing.

Identified with silence and boundlessness
My spirit widens clasping the universe
Till all that seemed becomes the Real,
One in a mighty and single vastness.

Someone broods there nameless and bodiless,
Conscious and lonely, deathless and infinite,
And, sole in a still eternal rapture,
Gathers all things to his heart for ever.

Ascent

The SilenceInto the Silence, into the Silence,

Arise, O Spirit immortal,
Away from the turning Wheel, breaking the magical Circle.
Ascend, single and deathless:
Care no more for the whispers and the shoutings in the darkness,
Pass from the sphere of the grey and the little,
Leaving the cry and the struggle,
Into the Silence for ever.

Vast and immobile, formless and marvellous,
Higher than Heaven, wider than the universe,
In a pure glory of being,
In a bright stillness of self-seeing,
Communing with a boundlessness voiceless and intimate,
Make thy knowledge too high for thought, thy joy too deep for emotion;
At rest in the unchanging Light, mute with the wordless self-vision,
Spirit, pass out of thyself; Soul, escape from the clutch of Nature.
All thou hast seen cast from thee, O Witness.
Turn to the Alone and the Absolute, turn to the Eternal:
Be only eternity, peace and silence,
world-transcending nameless Oneness,
Spirit immortal.

Beyond the SilenceOut from the Silence, out from the Silence,
Carrying with thee the ineffable Substance,
Carrying with thee the splendour and wideness,
Ascend, O Spirit immortal.
Assigning to Time its endless meaning,
Blissful enter into the clasp of the Timeless.
Awake in the living Eternal, taken to the bosom of love of the Infinite,
Live self-found in his endless completeness,
Thy heart close to the heart of the Godhead for ever.

Vast, God-possesseing, embraced by the Wonderful,
Lifted by the All-Beautiful into his infinite beauty,
Love shall envelop thee endless and fathomless,
Joy unimaginable, Ecstasy illimitable,
Knowledge omnipotent, Might omniscient,
Light without darkness, Truth that is dateless.
One with the Transcendent, calm, universal,
Single and free, yet innumerably living,
All in thyself and thyself in all dwelling,
Act in the world with thy being beyond it.
Soul, exceed life's boundaries; Spirit, surpass the universe.
Outclimbing the summits of Nature,
Transcending and uplifting the soul of the finite,
Rise with the world in thy bosom,
O Word gathered into the heart of the Ineffable.
One with the Eternal, live in his infinity,
Drowned in the Absolute, found in the Godhead,
Swan of the supreme and spaceless ether wandering winged through the universe,
Spirit immortal.

Silence
A day of Silence

Can be a pilgrimage in itself.

A day of Silence

Can help you listen

To the Soul play

Its marvellous lute and drum.

Is not most talking

A crazed defence of a crumbling fort?

I thought we came here

To surrender in Silence,

To yield to Light and Happiness,

To Dance within

In celebration of Love’s Victory!

Just a few thoughts of God

Will light the holy fire.

Someone Should Start Laughing
I have a thousand brilliant lies
For the question:

How are you?

I have a thousand brilliant lies
For the question:

What is God?

If you think that the Truth can be known
From words,

If you think that the Sun and the Ocean

Can pass through that tiny opening Called the mouth,

O someone should start laughing!
Someone should start wildly Laughing –Now!

The Great Secret

God was full of Wine last night,
So full of wine

That He let a great secret slip.
He said:

There is no man on earth
Who needs a pardon from Me -

For there is really no such thing,
No such thing
As Sin!

That Beloved has gone completely Wild-He has poured Himself into me!

I am Blissful and Drunk and Overflowing.

Dear world,
Draw life from my Sweet Body,

Dear wayfaring souls,
Come drink your fill of liquid rubies,
For God has made my heart
An Eternal Fountain!

A Golden Compass
Forget every idea of right and wrong
Any classroom ever taught you

Because
An empty heart, a tormented mind,
Unkindness, jealousy and fear

Are always the testimony
You have been completely fooled!

Turn your back on those
Who would imprison your wondrous spirit
With deceit and lies.

Come, join the honest company
Of the King's beggars -
Those gamblers, scoundrels and divine clowns
And those astonishing fair courtesans
Who need Divine Love every night.

Come, join the courageous
Who have no choice
But to bet their entire world
That indeed,
Indeed, God is Real.

I will lead you into the Circle
Of the Beloved's cunning thieves,
Those playful royal rogues -
The ones you can trust for true guidance -
Who can aid you
In this Blessed Calamity of life.

Hafiz,
Look at the Perfect One
At the Circle's Center:

He Spins and Whirls like a Golden Compass,
Beyond all that is Rational,

To show this dear world

That Everything,
Everything in Existence
Does point to God.

I Know the Way You Can Get
I know the way you can get
When you have not had a drink of Love:

Your face hardens,
Your sweet muscles cramp.
Children become concerned
About a strange look that appears in your eyes
Which even begins to worry your own mirror
And nose.

Squirrels and birds sense your sadness
And call an important conference in a tall tree.
They decide which secret code to chant
To help your mind and soul.

Even angels fear that brand of madness
That arrays itself against the world
And throws sharp stones and spears into
The innocent
And into one's self.

O I know the way you can get
If you have not been drinking Love:

You might rip apart
Every sentence your friends and teachers say,
Looking for hidden clauses.

You might weigh every word on a scale
Like a dead fish.

You might pull out a ruler to measure
From every angle in your darkness
The beautiful dimensions of a heart you once
Trusted.

I know the way you can get
If you have not had a drink from Love's
Hands.

That is why all the Great Ones speak of
The vital need
To keep remembering God,
So you will come to know and see Him
As being so Playful
And Wanting,
Just Wanting to help.

That is why Hafiz says:
Bring your cup near me.
For all I care about
Is quenching your thirst for freedom!

All a Sane man can ever care about
Is giving Love!

Several Times in the Last Week
Ever since Happiness heard your name

It has been running through the streets

Trying to find you.

And several times in the last week,

God Himself has even come to my door-

Asking me for your address!

Once I said,

“God,

I thought You knew everything.

Why are You asking me

Where Your lovers live?”

And the Beloved replied,

Indeed, Hafiz, I do know Everything –

But it is fun playing dumb once in a while.

And I love intimate chat

And the warmth of your heart’s fire.

Maybe we should make this poem into a song-

I think it has potential!

How far does this refrain sound,

For I know it is a Truth:

Ever since Happiness heard your name,

It has been running through the streets

Trying to find you.

And several times in the last week,

God Himself has come to my door-

So sweetly asking for your address,

Wanting the beautiful warmth of your heart’s fire.

What Happens
~

What happens when your soul
Begins to awaken
Your eyes
And your heart
And the cells of your body
To the great Journey of Love?

First there is wonderful laughter
And probably precious tears

And a hundred sweet promises
And those heroic vows
No one can ever keep.

But still God is delighted and amused
You once tried to be a saint.

What happens when your soul
Begins to awake in this world

To our deep need to love
And serve the Friend?

O the Beloved
Will send you
One of His wonderful, wild companions –

Like Hafiz.

When The Sun Appears in the East
When the sun appears in the East,

I make friends with my poetry.

I see a golden disc

Right above the blue sea.

A red hibiscus is smiling at me,

Is there anybody on earth, O Sun,

Who does not long for your smile?

No, nobody.

Everybody wants your smile.

I too want you smile

And something more:

I want to bow to you

With my heart's adoration.

The Sun
Have you ever seen
anything
in your life
more wonderful

than the way the sun,
every evening,
relaxed and easy,
floats toward the horizon

and into the clouds or the hills,
or the rumpled sea,
and is gone--
and how it slides again

out of the blackness,
every morning,
on the other side of the world,
like a red flower

streaming upward on its heavenly oils,
say, on a morning in early summer,
at its perfect imperial distance--
and have you ever felt for anything
such wild love--
do you think there is anywhere, in any language,
a word billowing enough
for the pleasure

that fills you,
as the sun
reaches out,
as it warms you

as you stand there,
empty-handed--
or have you too
turned from this world--

or have you too
gone crazy
for power,
for things?

Where Has The Peace Gone?

Year 1950

Life was so beautiful,
From morning to evening,
We enjoyed the road to school,
Birds chirped and
Peace lingered.

We were free to roam the city,
From every nook to corner,
All were friends- birds, animals
And we humans
Peace was gracious.

The minds of the people were clean,
The children played without fear,
The world was calm with no
dangerous threats
Peace danced.

What gorgeous days, I hope they had stayed.

Year 2000

Life is so insecure,
From afternoon to night,
We fear the road to school,
We may be kidnapped
Peace has gone.

We are forced to be in homes,
There may be destructive bombs,
Criminals are at large,
Nobody is to be trusted,
Peace has demolished.

People are disloyal,
The children are restricted to play,
We can’t have a sound sleep,
We may have a nuclear attack,
Peace is absent.

Where are those wonderful peaceful days?

Life is a game…

Life is a game,
A game of chess,
If you make a wrong move,
Your winning chances are less.

Life is so precious,
Life is so beautiful,
Life is a real game,
So make winning your aim.

Think about the move before you make it,
Because you don’t want to suffer your whole life for it.
Make sure you achieve your aim,
Because then you can move on to your next game.

Think of the people, who are waiting for your success,
Cheering for you throughout the entire race.
You don’t want to disappoint them and make them frown.
So make sure that you win and don’t let them down.

Win the game and make people behind you feel proud,
For the support they gave you by sticking around.
Thank them for being there and supporting you throughout the game,
And be thankful that you have all these people to support you reach your aim.

A Reason to Smile

There are very less, who gives a reason to smile,
May be it is for long, or a little while.
One have to give out a sweet and honest smile,
Just even to make someone smile for a while.

My eyes are in habit of tears,
Still there are moments when it does hears,
A pleasant smile from my heart with eyes full of tears.
Tears are more but no one is there to care,
Because a smile on the face makes it pretty, dear.

THE ROUTINE WORK

Golden rays fall on the faces,
All the flowers bloom in their vases

Every child wakes up bright,
And forgets about the dull night

As a new lucky day starts,
Men go to work in bumping carts

Children's work is to go to school,
In the morning which is to cool

Mother cooks food for the family,
Very actively not lazily

As the sun moves above us,
Children return in their bus

Cowboys return from the fields,
Taking the cow's lead

In the night we eat food,
For health which is very good

At last we go to sleep,
Waiting for the sun's bright light

I Believe

I believe that life is there to enjoy.

I believe crushes are there to crush hearts.

I believe true love is there from the start.

I believe you should give people chances.

I believe you should treat people the same because you never know what they will do for you in the future.

I believe that good things will come to people who work hard.

I believe great things come to people who never give up.

I believe silence will teach you something if you listen hard.

I believe that the heart leads you in the right direction if you follow it.

I believe friends are needed no matter who you are.

I believe family should stick by your side.

I believe God will help you if you believe in him and trust him.

I believe drugs destroy.

I believe sleep calms the soul.

I believe the heart and soul are more important than looks.

I believe trust helps the world go round.

I believe love brings great things.

I believe kids could teach adults a lot if adults would just listen.

I believe pets are great because they listen and love you no matter what you look like.

I believe you should always chase your dreams.

I believe hope is something everyone needs.

I believe you need to make time for fun.

I believe music soothes the soul.

I believe that money cannot buy happiness.

I believe books can take you anywhere.

I believe jokes have to be there to keep people sane.

I believe people are special the way they are.

I believe that true friends will last a lifetime.

I believe that enjoying what you do will help you enjoy life more.

I believe parents are more important than you think.

I believe the sky is the limit.

I believe you should shoot for the stars.

I believe being loved and loving are two totally different things.

I believe that you have to love yourself before you can love others.

I believe records are made to be broken.

I believe promises should be kept.

I believe brothers and sisters are made to teach.

I believe a simple smile can make anybody's day better.

I believe that being popular is not the key to life.

I believe in being nice to nerds because you might grow up and have to work for one.

Life… be thankful for it

Love your life because you are living it,
It doesn’t matter what others think about it.

Love you friends because they are always around to help you,
What would have happened to your life if they weren't with you?

Love your family because they care for you,

Can you think of your future without a family
living near by to help you?

Life is just a story that is being recited by god,
So whatever is happening is happening according to god.

Be thankful for the god, who made all these
people available to help you,

Because without these people around,
our lives would have been doomed.

I am a friendly person,
But I would like to be,
A tough and aggressive person,
Because of what people think of me.

People take me for granted,
And expect more from me,
But they never think of complexity

Although I am always happy,

It is sometimes hard for me

Determination

Lives of great men all do remind,
Nothing is impossible for a determined mind.
A clear goal and a strong will - you'll agree,
Will make you what you want to be.

A clear head has a vision possible.
A strong mind achieves the mission impossible.
Never give up or lose heart on the way;
Face anything with courage - come what may.

Harness your inner strength and power,
Have confidence, courage and not despair.
Be positive and bold, with hope and trust.
And be ready to admit mistakes first.

He who is pure in thought, word and deed,
And strives hard, cannot but succeed.
Every good work would first face resistance,
Ridicule and protest, but finally acceptance.

Arise, awake, and stop not before your goal,
You CAN make your fate - with heart and soul.
For it's all in the power of your mind;
And good means always justify the end.

THE GIRL

I write this poem for every girl
Who once in her life gets caught in that swirl
I write this poem to define what love means to her
In love like guys she's not clever
Her eyes start searching for him when he's not around
Just one look of him so that she's sure he's sound
She starts dressing up more than usual
With her make up she stops being casual
She is over-whelmed when that day comes
When he looks into her eyes she feels numb
She is made happier day by day
She wishes him for every monthly gay
She feels she could not ask for anything else
She secretly starts dreaming of those wedding bells
She's keen know about the family members
Thinking one day they might be hers
Then that day comes when he asks her to leave
She breaks into pieces, as she is still naïve
She asks her herself the unanswered questions
She consents her herself as one of life's lessons
She tries to turn to a new normal
She then with every one is very formal
She is scared to be her true self again
Believes that another heart break would drive her insane
She thinks she's forgotten everything
But before going to bed she sometimes sings

Someone somewhere thinks of you
Someone somewhere cries for you
Someone somewhere feels you're true
Someone somewhere believes it can only be you
Someone somewhere wants your good
Someone somewhere is waiting to know the truth
Someone somewhere feels you can never go wrong
Someone somewhere still remembers you in her songs
Someone somewhere still searches for you
Maybe someone somewhere still loves you!

When Nature Dance

It was a lovely day,
The Sun was strolling by the bay.

Children were playing near the sea,
While elders were sipping coffee and tea.

The tides came in flash.
Several towns were badly crashed.

Precious lives were lost,
No one knows their cost!

Some here some there,
Many of them now nowhere,

People under rubble,
Trying to come out of trouble.

Missed will be those who are dead,
But sadly, life must go ahead…

Life must go ahead…
Life must go ahead.

Calm is all Nature

Calm is all nature as a resting wheel.

The kine are couched upon the dewy grass;

The horse alone, seen dimly as I pass ,

Is cropping audibly his later meal:

Dark is the ground; a slumber seems to steal

O'er vale, and mountain, and the starless sky.

Now, in this blank of things, a harmony,

Home-felt, and home-created, comes to heal

That grief for which the senses still supply

Fresh food; for only then, when memory

Is hushed, am I at rest. My Friends! restrain

Those busy cares that would allay my pain;

Oh! leave me to myself, nor let me feel

The officious touch that makes me droop again.

PREFACE

Only the dying have the
Courage to face death and
Look at it in the eye to
Day “take me for I
renounce life” just because
they are short of time,
too early to be late
and too late to be
early enough to escape fate.
The songs of loneliness and the
voice of silence is what you
would find flipping through
the pages. But no noise reaches
the ears of the deaf

They say that the pen
speaks the language of
the mind, and the words
carved on paper are the
true reflection of the
writer. If this is true,
then I must admit that
I have as many faces as
there are pages in this
spiral pad. Each page and
each poem is a true
reflection of one of my
face, evil or good, sad
or bright, it is for
you the reader, to decide.

LONGING

There can be everyone,
Crowds come in, move out
But you're not among them

Stroll through Memory Lane
Can't even remember your embrace
For it never was.

Flip forward the pages of time
Our first encounter
What will it be like?

Remembering your voice
Recalling your name
Tears brim my eyes

Where are the memories?
Locked in the future
So far away

This feels so wrong
I think more of you
To love you even more

Love separated
But only by distance
Not in my heart.

During my life journey on this planet I shall start each day with these affirmations:

My Commitments

I am capable. I am worthwhile. I am beautiful. I am lovable.

I shall accept both my strengths and my weaknesses for they are me.

I shall never again believe the "lie" that if I make a mistake,

I am a mistake. My mistakes are the learning tools that I shall encounter on my life journey.

When I learn from my mistakes, I give them meaning.

When I give my mistakes meaning, I can begin to forgive myself, I can begin to heal.

I shall not use my mistakes as excuses to give up on me - my mistakes are not me.

I shall seek the wisdom to nurture my heart, mind, body, and soul so that I may feel more centered

- providing an energy reserve that allows me to climb the mountains in my own life

- providing an energy reserve that allows me to love and support others who are climbing a different mountain

- providing an energy reserve that allows time for friends, play, and celebration of life.

I shall allow myself to feel capable - so that I may seek excellence.

I shall allow myself to feel sadness - so that joy may return.

I shall allow myself to feel joy - so that I may be revitalized.

I shall allow myself to feel afraid - so that I may find courage.

I shall allow myself to feel alone - so that I may know me.

I shall allow myself to feel beautiful - so that I may feel free.

I shall allow myself to feel lovable - so that the loving may seek me.

I shall allow myself to feel pain - so that I may heal.

I shall allow myself to feel worthy - so that I may fulfill my purpose.

When I am centered, I see the perfection in the world, myself and others.

When I find the world to be imperfect, I will take responsibility for painting it that way.

I will look into the heart of a rose, or the eyes of a newborn baby and again know perfection.

I take responsibility for creating my own life story through the choices I have made;

to blame others is to give away my personal power.

I shall seek the courage to believe in a God or Higher Power who will laugh with me in the sunlight or cry with me in the darkness.

I shall make a small difference on this planet through the work I do - when I leave I will have done my share.

I shall live, love, laugh, and learn on my journey.

Love

When you love
You must love higher than any bird has flown before;
You see, that is the nature of love.

When you love
You must love wider than any cloud has spread before;
You see, that is the nature of love.

When you love
You must love stronger than any passionate fire before;
You see, that is the nature of love.

When you love
You must love sweeter than any nectar has tasted before;
You see, that is the nature of love.

But when you love
You must love like love is all that you will ever need;
For you see, that is the law of love.

A Promise

TRoses are red and water lilies are blue;
Honey sweet heart not as sweet as you...

I promise you
From the bottom of my heart.
I will love you
Til' death do us part.
As a lover and a friend
I will love you like I never love again.
With everything I am.

There are only four questions of value in life.
What is sacred?
Of what is the spirit made of?
What is worth living for?
What is worth dying for?
The answer to each is the same. Only love.

In my dreams I'll always see you soar above the sky
And in my heart will always be a place for you,
For all my life
I'll keep a part of you with me
And everywhere I am there you'll be

When you love someone,
And you love them with your heart,
It never disappears,
When you're apart.
And when you love someone
And you've done all you can do,
You set them free,
And if that love was true...
When you love someone
It will all come back to you.

All our young lives we search for someone to love,
someone who makes us complete.
We chose partners and change partners.
We dance to a song of heartbreak and hope
all the while wondering if somewhere and somehow
there is someone searching for us.

The Pain of a Lost Friendship

The pain of a lost friendship eats at your soul, nags at your heart
You try to black everything out but it tears you apart
You try to shove it in the back of your mind, never to be revealed
But everything reminds you of your best friend that suddenly disappeared
It hurts to think of the times the two of you had shared
Like days when all you seemed to do was care
Tears are your constant companions that you try to fight on the outside
But the constant pain of missing them is always on the inside
Don't ever let true friendship go
Let it flourish, let it grow
Then maybe you'll never have to feel
The things that I have written here . . .

Handling Love

If you find yourself in love with someone who does not love you, be gentle
with yourself. There is nothing wrong with you. Love just didn't choose to
rest in the other person's heart.

If you find someone else in love with you and you don't love her/him, feel
honored that love came and called at your door, but gently refuse the gift
you cannot return. Do not take advantage, do not cause pain.

How you deal with love is how you deal with you, and all our hearts feel the
same pains and joys, even if our lives and ways are different.

If you fall in love with another, and she falls in love with you, and then
love chooses to leave, do not try to reclaim it or to assess blame, Let it
go. There is a reason and there is a meaning. You will know in time.

Remember that you don't choose love. Love chooses you. All you can really do
is accept it for all its mystery when it comes into your life. Feel the way
it fills you to overflowing, then reach out and give it away.

Give it back to the person who brought it alive in you.
Give it to others who deem it poor in spirit.
Give it to the world around you in anyway you can.

This is where many lovers go wrong. Having been so long without love, they
understand love only as a need. They see their hearts as empty places that
will be filled by love, and they begin to look at love as something that
flows to them rather than from them.

The first blush of new love is filled to overflowing, but as their love
cools, they revert to seeing their love as need. They cease to be someone
who generates love and instead become someone who seeks love. They
forget that the secret of love is that it is a gift, and that it can be made
to grow only by giving it away.

Remember this, and keep it to your heart. Love has its own time, its own
seasons, and its own reason for coming and going. You cannot bribe it or
coerce it, or reason it into saying. You can only embrace it when it
arrives and give it away when it comes to you.

But if it chooses to leave from your heart or from the heart of your lover,
there is nothing you can do and there is nothing you should do. Love always
has been and always will be a mystery.

Be glad that it came to live for a moment in your life.
Don't deny love just only you don't want to be hurt...

IF YOU KEEP YOUR HEART OPEN, IT WILL COME AGAIN.

The Touch of a Friend

An angel was sent down from heaven one day
to visit a child who had nothing to say;

Now this young child was poor, great wealth she did lack,
but she always was happy in spite of the fact.

Until one day it happened - her best friend went away
and it left her heartbroken with nothing to say.

Now the task of the angel was a great one indeed,
to give hope to a heart that was so much in need.

And though great riches and power were at the angel's command,
he sent a lost kitten and the healing began.

The girl cheered the kitten as it tracked down a snail,
and she started to giggle when he chased his own tail.

Then without any warning the girl whose heart broke
found some reason for saying these words that she spoke -

"I love you little kitten ... I hope you will stay!
We will always be friends and together we'll play."

Now the little girl was happy though she still remained poor,
for she had a new friend someone to care for.

You see riches and power are fine things indeed
but for a broken heart that is not what you need.

The angel was wise for he knew in the end
how to mend a broken heart with the touch of a friend

Friendship with a Meaning

your special to me in everyway,
You're the best person ever, if I can say
You really mean the world to me
I really wish that you could see
Your always there to understand,
When I'm down you take my hand
And lift my spirits up so high
Your like an angel in the sky…
When I'm sad and feeling blue
I lay awake and think of you
And suddenly I feel all better
Or if I don't I read your letter
Which is filled with all things sweet,
A nicer person you could never meet…
you and I, we have fun together
And in my heart I hope were friends forever…

Hate Anger Hate

Please stop fighting
Your words are senseless
Please stop shouting
There is no point
Please stop screaming
What's the purpose?
Please stop passing
Your hateful words

Come sit beside me
Don't you see?
How your words
Are affecting me?
How your words
Make me cry?
It makes me wish
The world would die

What does it solve?
Your words of anger?
Your bitter resentment
With no meaning?
What does it mean
To curse and fight?
When you could sit down
And discuss all night?

How do you think
It affects me?
No - not just me
But us three?
How do you think
We will act
When you come into the room
Like a hell-sent bat?

Please stop fighting
Your words are senseless
Please stop shouting
There is no point
Please stop screaming
What's the purpose?
Please stop passing
Your hateful words

Colours

The sun above is bright and yellow
On the phone we all say hello.

Oceans and seas are deep and blue
We should always be and honest and true.

The night sky is dark and black
To naughty children mummy gives a smack.

Roses are so pretty and red
After supper is time for bed.

The grass in the garden is wet and green
We should never ever be mean.

The milk we drink is ever so white
Little children should never fight.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Adding Colours

Adding white to black we get gray
Everyday to God we should pray.

Adding yellow to blue we get green
Our house should always be tidy and clean.

Adding white to red we get pink
Morning and evening milk we must drink.

Adding yellow to red we get orange
After buying something we should count the change.

Adding blue to red we get purple
Mummy and Papa make a lovely couple.

Walking on the Moon

With all the pollution of earth, and its gloom...
I decided to have my house on the moon.
Within no times, I caught the first flight...
And reached the moon much later at night.
As soon as I stepped out, after clearing the mess...
To my surprise I realized tha I weigh quite less.
Unable to keep my happiness, I jumped with joy...
And to my horror, found myself hanging up like a toy.
Walking on the moon was not a piece of cake...
A slight push, and a long leap in the space I could take.
At last my excitement had to bear the penalty...
that my dream house on moon, cannot be made a reality.

I shall walk again
(On my second paralytic stroke)

When my arm refuses to move
When my left leg has gone astray
May I be permitted to express my mind ?
My mind ---
Any way I may ?

Yes, I cannot walk
I cannot move
Without other's help
But I can still think
I still look, read and write
I can yet help myself !

Thank you all
But I can yet help myself.

I can help myself
To my thoughts
Although I can
But hardly move
I still find
That I can
Live in my very own groove.

This is my
Second ordeal
I am on fire
May heat is on
I look to cloudy sky
To cool my thirsty mind
And walk again in my gardens.

A day will come,
When I shall walk.
I shall walk again
I'll thank you all then
For your efforts
That were not made in vain.

Thank you all
But I shall walk again.

I Can Understand

I can Understand
More than anyone else can,
I have that tenderness some-where inside,
Which from you I try to hide,
I also have that sensitivity in me,
Although through time it is growing weak,
I have feelings too,
Which I don't want to show to you,
I know I am being rude,
I want you to think of me as shrewd,
Cause I don't want you to discover me,
To see what lies beyond this cover on me,
I don't want to be hurt any more,
The pain of betrayal has no cure.

If it Ever Happens....
If it Ever Happens,
When you stand out in the evening
and don't realise that its already night.
When your eyes are open but there's nothing in - sight.
When somebody calls you from the back
and you don't hear a sound
When somebody touches from behind
and you don't turn around
When the blowing wind gently caresses you hair
and they too dance as if
moving in a prayer.
When you don't hear yours, but only
the clock's heart beat.
When salt doesn't tastes salty,
when sugar doesn't tastes sweet.
When you don't feel the pain,
of a needle prick
or that caused by a burning
candle wick.

When you forget that you hold a matchstick
still burning in your hand.
When you start following them back,
your footprints in sand.
When your yesterday, sweetly
whispers in your ears,
When your memories flow down
your cheeks as tears.
When nostalgia eclipses the heart and mind
and it focus them on the gone time.
When your thoughts run randomly
like a prisoner set free,
or float swiftly like sunlight
on quiet sea.
When you thick of those close to thee,
Just make a brief...
a brief reference of me.

Love a devotion is the master plan.

It's not a game of prey and vulture,

Lets create golden history for the future,

Not a comma
Not a hyphen
Or not even a dash
No, I don't want
To be a semi colon either

Is not my preferences
Ellipses... either three or four
I don't mind
But full stop is the one
I want to be
Because
Full stop is an end in itself
It has no extension
Nothing to add
Nothing to subtract
It is completer in itself
Beginning and end being within
That insignificant dot
Which is lost in the sea of text
Yes I want to be a full stop.

BUSINESS AND LOVE

Business and love have one common thing to share,
Uncertainty and risk they have to bear.

Business is an institution organized, operated to
Provide goods and services; whereas
Love is a gift of God to share hugs and kisses.

Business carries out some transactions,
Lovers collide due to one's indecent actions.

Business can be destroyed by fire,
But, Love is a fire proof wire.

Every Business needs a growth, where as
Lovers need an oath.

It's easy to find a business which is royal,
But can't find lovers who are loyal.

GRANDFATHER CLOCK

Placed on a beautiful, craved table,
A huge old musical clock I am,
Sturdy and stable,
Standing in the museum hall, I hum.

A puppet band is there to chime,
Out the correct time.
Every hour when the band master gives a beat,
Out comes music sweet.
A puppet man with a hammer to hold,
Announces the time to the world.
Out comes a cuckoo from its suite,
To sing the time in a voice so sweet.

Around me the visitors gather,
Around me, the children gather.
They look with awe and surprise,
And talk about my huge size.
Hour after hour people wait,
To hear the time I state.

To the Queen who wears a pendent
Cauliflower, beetroot and pumpkin,
Protect the vegetables’ kith and kin.

VIEW FROM THE WINDOW
Sitting by the window sill,
I watch the birds fly up the hill.

On the trees the parrots sit,
Cracking nuts bit by bit

Among the dried leaves heap,
Sparrows catch the worms that creep.

Across the vast blue sky.

While the wind blows gently,

Nature's Sorrow

See the poor green trees,
Man has cut them down;
Has cut Nature's arms
And made our Earth cry.

The rains have stopped,
The land is dry and hot,
No food or fruits to eat,
And no water to drink.

Birds no longer sing,
They flown far away
To places where they
Have trees to stay.

The cows, goats and all
Get no food or shade at all;
As no plants grow
Where Man is Nature's foe.

Let's stop this crime,
And grow more trees and trees,
We can't live without them,

Craig's Story

Poor little Craig
He only wanted to be ‘cool'.
He just had to fit in
With the boys at school.

When invited to a party
His parents let him go.
Only under one condition
That they recited like so:

“Son, I want you to
Come back home alive,
So I am warning you
To please not drink and drive.”

“Life is very precious
Worth more than being ‘cool'
Because if you lost your limb or life
You'll be your number one fool.”

Craig promised his parents
That whether he was cool or a nerd
He would never drink and drive
So they let him go, taking his word.

If his parents only knew
That their son would never come home
That fate would take away
What they could truly call their own.

The party was wild
And it had begun to rain
But Craig had entered
With those words in his brain:

“Come home alive
Don't drink and drive”

But peer pressure got the best of him
Even with the warning in his head.
His brain pleaded for a soft drink,
But he took a beer instead.
“Just for a taste”, he said
As he opened the bottle to “try”.
Enjoy it while you can, Craig,
It will be hours before you die.

From “trying”, it went to “taste”
After “taste”, he couldn't even think.
From here on, all he wanted
Was “just another drink”.

He went off to his car
Thinking he was all right
Although his vision was triple
And he could barely see that night.

The storm clouds will soon kick in
To set the final scene
When Craig takes his final breaths
At the age of eighteen.

He gets in behind the wheel
Fumbles for his keys
Rolls down the windows
To feel the night's breeze.

Enjoy it while you can, Craig
Appreciate every breath
Because the minutes are counting down
Until your untimely death.

He starts the ignition
Puts the car into motion.
Poor Craig took the plunge
Into the deep drunk ocean.

Driving on the freeway
Thinking, “This night was my luck”
Until the wheel slipped from him
And he smashed into a truck.

Crash, noise
The smell of gas
Broken bones
Fiberglass.
Cuts, bruises
Airbags flying.
This is chaos
And Craig is dying.

He now remembers
The vow that he gave
But now his time is being cut short
What a path to pave.

“I'm so sorry mom and dad”, he says
“Please don't come to shame.
I'm sorry that I'm leaving you
With a grave that bears my name.”

“I am very sorry
For future sorrow and for my lies.”
Then he takes his final breath
And shuts his deep green eyes.

The paramedics arrive an hour later
The truck driver would be okay,
But they looked at Craig and said to each other
“It's a shame it ended for him this way.”

As Craig's parents heard the news
His mother breaks down in grief
“Why did you do this, son?” she shrieks
“Why did you make your life so brief?”

He never knew how precious life was
And ended it with one solid stroke
It all began with the confrontation
And the promise that he broke.

The story of foolish Craig
Who, by his family and friends, was cherished
He'll never know how cool he really was
Because now, he lies among the perished.

Missing You

Losing my self control,
I run to your side
And you save me...
My imagination runs wild
I begin to laugh again
With you

On the edge of the cliff
I am tempted to fall
But you always catch me
And wipe my tears away
I feel so loved
I love you

In the middle of a breakdown
I want to disappear
Yet, there you are
Loving me, caring for me
I always want to be seen
Around you

The worst day of my life
I wanted to die
But you were here for me
Fighting during the storm
Comforting when calm
Thank you

I was riding on self doubt
I wanted to weep
Then you came
Removing all traces of sadness
Restoring my love and faith
Through you

When I am thinking of you
I want to see you
So I imagine you here
With kind words of wisdom
And an open heart
I miss you

With my graceful walk.

Admiring my beauty

Although I wish to fly...

So many pains
Perfect for a neck like mine
who will notice
what I'm really thinking?

my wings are useless

all I can do is run from my problems
knowing they will chase me

Nothing can change
Wishes dont grant a thing
so I shall find my refuge

All THAT REALLY MATTER

I don't have much to give,

I know that it's true.

But all that really matters,

Is if it's pleasing to you.

I don't have much skill,

In saying the right things,

But all that really matters,

Is all the love that it brings.

I don't have much to think about,

No hopes or fantasies,

But all that really matters,

Is for your sadness to cease.

I don't have much to offer,

It's nothing from the mart.

But all that I can give you,

Is a place in my heart.

TRUST

So strong, yet so fragile:

As solid as a rock,

Yet shatters like glass.

Filled with good intentions,

The result is hatred if misused.

Will it ever come back?

One's world is gone,

As if a bottle broke.

And everyone picks up a piece,

To take home with them.

The bottle is gone.

No secrets—exposed.

As if on a tabloid.

All of this caused by good intentions.

Trust : the one thing people want to break.

The one thing people give away without thinking…

If they only knew it would destroy them.

Depression is.....

Depression is a state of mind,

Where happiness is left behind.

When you're all alone and feeling sad,

Reflecting upon those dreams you've had.

Depression is that urge to scream,

If you've failed to make the high-school team.

The need to cry when nothing seems right,

And you wish that you had to stood to fight.

Depression is the pain you feel,

When happiness seems too good to be real.

When nobody knows what you've been through,

Or no one's around that you can talk to.

Depression is that primal urge,

For your soul to submerge.

Life's too hard to bear,

Because everything's unfair.

The playing of the fife,

Telling you to end your life.

But imagining mother's cry,

Doesn't make you want to die.

So the healing begins,

As you cast away your sins.

Trying to mend old ways,

To see better days.

Space

Space is very dark and cold,

People who go there are very bold.

There are scientists and engineers,

Searching for life without any fears.

There are lots of planets, moons and stars,

Including Venus, Earth and Mars.

Shooting stars and comets too,

I like space, how about you?

My Plea

Foolishly, I discarded you.

How could I be so dumb?

For now, I want you back,

When I realized you'll never see me.

When I look at your pictures,

My eyes fill with tears,

Knowing what I've done to you,

And you never did anything wrong.

I blame nobody but myself,

For doing this to you.

Nothing was ever your fault,

And I had always blamed you first.

When I realized all of this,

It was too late.

Because you had left this world,

Making me feel awful.

Can you ever forgive me?

Forgive my selfishness, please.

Because I will never forgive myself,

For the way I had treated you.

I'm truly sorry.

Please forgive me.

My Friend

I have this friend, or so it seems,

Who discourages me to follow my dreams,

She was never there when I need her the most,

But is always the first to pop-up to boast.

Who mooches off anyone she can see,

And considers herself Miss Popularity.

It was about time when I faced reality,

And found that this “friend” lacks sentimentality.

That she's no friend of mine at all,

Instead, she's a conceited person who enjoys my fall.

I thought she really was a friend,

Or so it seems.

Animals

Animals of the wild, animals of the sea,

Animals that are taller than you and me.

A hamster is small, you can recognize,

Unlike the Elephant whose shape is maximized.

The ostrich is a tall bird and can't even fly,

Nothing like the zebra, which lions kill; so they die.

The giraffe is very tall and eats from tall trees.

The bison were almost extinct, thanks to human greed.

All these animals I have mentioned aren't the only kind,

There are many kinds and more, just look in the wilderness to find!

Life

If life is so “precious”,

Then why are so many ruined?

These are the homeless

The sick, the sufferers

And the suicidal.

If we should embrace what we have,

Why are so many people left with nothing?

Nothing to hold and cherish?

These are the orphans

And the disowned.

If God is so perfect,

Why does he let all of this happen?

Is it because He is “challenging” us?

Or is it that this world is simply unjust?

Who really knows?

Is life really precious to the extent of living it to its fullest?

No, that's why people screw up their lives.

Life can be either Heaven or Hell…

In just one move.

It's sort of like chess, isn't it?

One stupid move and you're either dead, imprisoned,

Or something or someone precious can be taken away from you,

And you can't do anything about it.

However, if you make the smart move,

Even if you hate it,

You may end up somewhere,

Or at least have tried.

Earth

Earth is beautiful, and it shows,

Like it's waterfall and sunset glow.

It's beautiful animals like geese and doe.

It's clouds up high and it's rivers below.

The earth is our friend – it's not out foe!

The earth is beautiful and it shows.

Goodbye

It seemed all too sudden.

When I found out that I would never see you again.

Never look into those mysterious, but curious eyes,

And rub that fuzzy nose of yours.

How I took your presence for granted.

I will never forget those happy times together.

But now that you are gone,

I wish that we spent more time together,

Just one last time.

But wishing will never bring you back.

Because you are forever gone.

To never be seen, heard, or touched.

There is nothing to compare your beauty to anymore.

The worst part is:

I never had the chance to say Goodbye.

My Aunt
(Mausiji)

They all said, “She's here!”

And I showed no fear.

I ran outside to give her a hug,

And she called me “Monica Dear”.

She is very gentle, kind and nice you see,

Some people say she looks like me,

Yes, she is my mausiji!

BUTTERFLY

Born in an egg so small,
Emerging in the world as caterpillar,
You become fat, big, and may fall,
Green leaves acts as your stomach filler.
You hide as pupa in the cocoon,
As a beautiful butterfly, you will come out this noon.

With bright, dazzling wing
Among flowers in the wind you swing,
Sucking nectar from the flower
Colourful and gay,

Happiness you shower
Around in the month of May.
Flying to the lands far and near,
Spreading bliss among ones close and dear.

VEGETABLE KINGDOM
Carrot, cabbage, and potato,
Spinach, radish and tomato,
All live in freedom,
In the vegetable kingdom.

Black brinjal is their King,
Who always sits on a swing.
Brainy Chilli – the chief minister
Capsicum is his sister.
Ladyfinger – an attendant,
To the Queen who wears a pendent
Cauliflower, beetroot and pumpkin,
Protect the vegetables’ kith and kin.

Together they all stay,
Happy and gay.

Lives of human kind
Depends on vegetables of all kind.
Body’s vitamins and mineral needs,
Are met from vegetables’ flesh and seeds.

FULL STOP

I want to be a full stop
Not a comma
Not a hyphen
Or not even a dash
No, I don't want
To be a semi colon either
Of course colon too
Is not my preferences
Ellipses... either three or four
I don't mind
But full stop is the one
I want to be
Because
Full stop is an end in itself
It has no extension
Nothing to add
Nothing to subtract
It is completer in itself
Beginning and end being within
That insignificant dot
Which is lost in the sea of text
Yes I want to be a full stop.

A child is the greatest gift
That our lives can bestow.
It brings the most exquisite joy
That we will ever know.
Some days deliver happiness,
Far more than we can touch.
We need the help of all our friends
To comprehend how much.

And so we thank you for the gifts,
Both those you brought and are,
That celebrate this rich, full life
And its rising star!

Thank you for your recent contribution.
Hearts find words that best their love convey.
All tears, like rain, must flow into the sea,
Nor do they ever lose their destined way.
Know that your kind gift brings consolation.
Yet it also sponsors a solution,
Offering the haunted hope that we
Upon some shore shall see a brighter day.

A gift's been given in your loved one's name
Through which some bit of good may come of sorrow.
Life is something all of us must borrow,
Returning it, in time, to whence it came.
Pleased be assured that it will be well used,
As every gift that sings of love and light
Will render things less wrong, though never right;
For gifts of morning ought not be refused.

Before one reads the Torah, one must be
Alight with love of G-d, as though a flame
Took refuge in the temple of a heart*
Made pure by discipline and holy deeds.
If one read only thus, then one would see
The meaning of the meaning, as the art
Zealously sustains those souls who read
Vested in the glory of The Name.
All of life and death is here in this:
How much one grasps depends on who one is.
*For bar mitzvahs, read: "Resplendent found its refuge in a heart"
