Wondering why it all happened..
My dear friends betrayed me, abandoned me..
God, why did you forsake me in this hell..

My guardian angel once told me,
That she will be here when I'm down.
But she's not here beside me,

Did she forsake me in this cold life?
Someone please tell me that I'm dreaming..

My pathetic life, crippled by the pain within..
The agony inside me is tormenting my heart..

But why.. Why did everyone forsake me?
My angel, you promised me that you'll enlighten my path.

I look around and tears run down from my dejected eyes..

I'm glad I'm a man, you better believe.
I don't live off of yogurt, diet coke, or cottage cheese.
I don't bitch to my girlfriends about the size of my breasts.
I can get where I want to - north, south, east, or west.

I don't get wasted after only 2 beers,
And when I do drink I don't end up in tears.
I won't spend hours deciding what to wear.
I spend 5 minutes max fixing my hair.

And I don't go around checking my reflection
in everything shiny from every direction.
I don't whine in public and make us leave early,
and when you ask why get all bitter and surly.

I'm glad I'm a man, I'm so glad I could sing.
I don't have to sit around waiting for that ring.
I don't gossip about friends or stab them in the back.
I don't carry our differences into the sack

I'll never go psycho and threaten to kill you
or think every guy out there's trying to steal you.
I'm rational, reasonable, and logical too.
I know what the time is and I know what to do.

And I honestly think its a privilege for me
to have these two balls and stand when I pee.
I live to watch sports and play all sorts of ball.
It's more fun than dealing with women after all.

I won't cry if you say it's not going to work.
I won't remain bitter and call you a jerk.

I don't brag to my buddies about my erections.

And I know how to put that damned toilet seat down.
I won't grab your hooters, I won't pinch your butt.
My belt buckle's not hidden beneath my beer gut.

And I don't go around "re-adjusting" my crotch.
And yell like Tarzan when my headboard gets a notch.
I don't belch in public, I don't scratch my behind.

It was Christmas and I didn't know what to get my parents. I gave them this and framed it too, for them to treasure...

Written on Friday, 25th of December 1998

From the moment I was born into the world, my mind was so pure.
My mom holding me in her arms and making me feel very secure.
I open my eyes gently and see the smile upon my mother’s face.
The happiness and joy of giving birth to a child in amazing sweet grace.
My father approaches with ease to witness his precious new-born.
To love this child of theirs and to care for it, is what they have sworn.
His feeling of pride and dignity has prolonged to exist from within.
Their fragile child is one of a kind and amongst others, very genuine.
Teaching me how to eat, crawl, count to 10 and how to walk.
Learning all the things in life, asking lots of questions, learning to talk.
Losing my first tooth, my very first haircut and my 1st birthday.
Until I reach my teenage years, going out every night on Saturday.
Sharing the fun and laughter from very special memories from the past.
Receiving valuable gifts and unique occasions that will always last.
Caring so much for my health and safety whenever I’m very sick.
Healing my body and soul, which makes my pounding heart tick.
Punishing me when I’m bad, giving me sweets when I’m good.
Raising me the best way you can with an unforgettable childhood.
Both of you have always been there for me whenever I am down.
Feeling sad and blue, you comforted me, gave me a smile from a frown.
Tucking me into bed when it is very late and dark at night.
Telling me there are no such things as monsters to give me a fright.
Constantly telling me to get off the phone for staying far too long.
Whenever I’m always right, you are sometimes telling me I’m wrong.
Although we have fights with each other, we will always forgive.
You both understand me very well and that I’m very sensitive.
All the hard work and time you both put in, for me to be satisfied.
Searching for the right path, you have always been there to guide.
I’m very honoured and very lucky to have parents like you.

Dear Mum and Dad my sister called, for me to come and stay

For the house that I was living in, wasn't really any fun

I'm a happy little surfer,
I zoom the Internet.
I've found a few places,
where I'm happy just to sit.

But, with a curling up of cords,
and a quite unpleasant smell.
I quickly figured out the fact,
that my modem wasn't well.

I clicked and clicked, and got nowhere,
no matter how I tried.
Forget the fact it wasn't well...
the rotten thing had died!

So armed with all my info,
I headed for the store.
I needed a new modem,
I'd get it, I was sure.

But, not being software savvy,
They spot me from afar.
With the rubbish that they sprout,
I could fertilize the yard.

I show my piece of paper,
with all the notes I've made.
But all that does, is instigate,
another long tirade.

Not to be defeated, I smile,
and let them sqwark.
Turn, and leave, and grab a mate,
who I KNOW can talk the talk.

We're in and out in 5 minutes flat,
I can hardly wait.

brittle are the innocent
within a vodka conversation
scattered on the street of sin
hit and run devastation

The Place I love By Twinkles

I wrote this poem when I was thirteen after returning from a family holiday to Ireland.


There is a place between the hills,
That I so dearly love,
The land slopes down to the water's edge,
And towers high above.

It towers high above the lakes,
The lakes so blue and deep,
That when you gaze upon their beauty,
You almost want to weep.

The hills, so green and high,
Make you feel so tiny,
As they reach up to the sky.
The lakes they stretch far and wide,
Across the beautiful glen.
They stretch across the valley floor,
As they flow around the bend.

It is a majestic scene to see,
The tall green hills
Above the water blue,
Just waiting, waiting till,
I return to this wonderful land,
And I stand upon a rock
To gaze once more, upon a place called Glenalough

Around the barbie, Aussies gather,
beer in one hand, snag in the other.

“Cobbers?” asked one. Where’d Bluey go?”
A Jo Blow replied, “How the heck would we know?”
Another said, “Bet he’s gone to chunder.”
“Naw, he’s gone to the dunny ya silly bugger.”
“No, ya dopey berk, he’s shot through,
he and his missus had a hell of a blue.
Ridgy-didge she got real darn narky,
and said old Blue is a bloody old alkie.
Fair dinkum, she reckons old Blue’s got
roos runnin’ loose in the top paddock
Poor Blue just wanted to try his luck
this Satdee-arvo, at two up.”

Swaying, unsteady on their feet and looking glum
the blokes felt sorry for Blue, their old chum
“Blue is a few stubbies short of a six pack,” one did state
“yeah,” said another, “but ya couldn’t ask for a better mate.”
“That’s true. Let’s drink to the silly old Wally.
Here’s to a true mate, Blue, a fair-dinkum-Aussie.”

Raising their amber they took a swig
“Hey, this is Blue’s esky,” lifting the lid,
looking in, “His cans are in a neat stack
silly bugger left his booze here ... he’ll be back.”

“Hey, Old Blue’s back from walkabout,”
another bellowed. “He looks all tuckered out.”
A happy voice shouted, “Give him a coldie, he’ll be jake.”
Another laughed, “Yeah, won’t be long, he’ll soon flake.”

Cry in my sleep when my heart’s calling out
Better done quietly – better not shout.
Hiding that feeling, don’t call it by name
I can only imagine you’re doing the same.

I walk through my life and pretend it’s not there
This hole in my heart, my dream with it’s tear.
I smile and I breathe when it’s my cue
But when will it heal, this damage from you?

I feel at some point I’ll cease to be sane
How can I continue when I’m in all this pain?
I hide it so well. I am so clever.
So long as I believe it will all come together.

But am I alone with these thoughts of mine?
Should I talk to you or just give it time?
Will it go on and how long do I wait?
There goes that pendulum – now love, now hate

I stand and I linger. You know I am here.
Perhaps, just maybe, you too, are in fear
To mention what, beneath the years, lie
Whatever it was that first made me cry.

I guess I’ll go on, pretend nothing’s wrong
But I always remember when I hear a certain song
Or sometimes I weep when I read aloud from a book
That reminds me of the love that from me you took.

I choose not to stay and on this to dwell

The mistake you made has filled you with regret.

I started my life so young and small,

I just don't know,

With red-apple cheeks and snow-white hair
Grandma sits in her rocking chair,
Rocking gently all day long
Sometimes singing snatches of song.

Is she remembering the good old days,
Pretty words and winsome ways.

Soldiers, sailors, and pilots too.

Off to face the foe they went,
With sad farewells, and letters sent.
So many fell on that distant shore,
To return to their loved ones nevermore.

But her special young man came home whole
And soon they were one, body and soul ~

But then it happened, late last year ~
Grandpa left his wife so dear;

A massive hulk –

One side men’s business,

You have seen over millennia!
Did God project you there?
A Mecca in the wilderness.
Like an iceberg
Two-thirds of you underground.
Yet you stand tall and proud.
To walk around you
Takes two and a half hours –
To understand your spirit
A lifetime.
At sunset and sunrise
You’re a symphony of colours,
Mauves, reds, browns, purples –
And in the dark you still glow.
Yes, I went to Ayers Rock
And came back from Uluru.

As I look upon my window pane
I notice drops of little rain
No wait it is the morning dew
Looking so fresh and very new

I wander out, outside my door
And hear a very frightening roar
It was perhaps a bit of lightning
Which felt very, very frightening

I wander further evermore
Thinking that this is not a bore
What's this I've come across I see
I have stumbled upon a bumblebee

"Come with me bumblebee
And see the view amongst the morning dew"
As we continue down the track
We cannot even think to look back

Along the track we meet a bear
With a happy sort of glare
The bear then leads us to a gorgeous place
Full of heaps of wonderful grace

Then I heard a tremendous sound
It was coming from a mound
It's a volcano about to erupt
This is indeed an enormous corrupt

Bang! I have bumped my head
I must have bumped it on my bed
Oh! It was all just a dream
Or as it would just happen to seem

I looked upon my window pane and noticed drops of little rain

It was an average winters day
the ground kissed with a blanket of snow
to the quiet lake i found my way
a faint squawk from a distant crow

the lake was glazed with a sheet of ice

My pockets were full of acorns, gathered from the fallen tree
Which had rotted from within and toppled without warning.

But one dropped into the detritus of the fallen Oak

From the decaying mulch were the nut had landed.

This tiny thrust of Hope holds the promise of a mighty Oak Tree

But first it must be warmed by Love and watered with Compassion.

The rose held in her hand, soon turns to ash.
Her beauty starts to decline in quality and vigor,
and she sees her life before her flash.
In one blink of an eye, she is gone.
Lightning has struck the willow tree.
A few of us had stayed until dawn,
so that we could see.
But there was nothing left of her,
just a few dozen roses scattered
where she had sat in plain sight,
a symbol of where an angel once fell,
on a long and starry night.

The cowboy is focussed on a win

a victim of the ravages of the cursed drought
The grass is dead, in fallen repose

The trees are bare, the twigs do snap

and there’s not a cloud in the clear blue sky.

The smell of citrus has departed the air
and the dust has settled every where.
The sun sears down and dries one’s eyes
a constant companion, the heat and the flies

If a cloud appears it is gone in a day
Leaving no moisture for which we pray
The sky turns red as the sun starts its rest
But the heat lingers and makes us depressed

I yearn for the Autumn or is it the Fall

**I Get The News**

The phone is ringing
It's late at night
I stumble out of bed
Something's not right

My heart is pounding
As I pick up the phone
Ethan left a long time ago
And he still hasn't told me he's home

Crying meets my ears
My heart pounds in my chest
I know I won't be getting good news
But I hope for the best

''Ethan was in an accident.''
A woman's voice chokes
My words get caught in my throat
I don't want to believe the words I just heard spoke

I want to scream
I want to cry
But I can't
I'm numb inside

I finally manage to ask the question
''Is he okay?''
But by her sobbing
I know what she's going to say

''I'm sorry, Amber, but he didn't make it.''
My heart rips like a lost love letter
Since he's gone
We'll just die together

Tears roll down my cheek
I hang up the phone
I'm all alone
No one's at home

Numbly sauntering to my dresser
I grab a long lost blade
As I put it to my wrist
I remember the promise I had made

I promised Ethan I wouldn't cut
If I loved him, restrain I must
With a sob I put it back
Why was life so unjust?

**The Funeral**

Dressed in black
Tear drained eyes
This was the day
I'd say my final goodbye

They slowly lower
The casket into the hole
My heart is broken
I have no soul

''God, why'd you take him?''
I silently pray
''I loved him so much.
Why couldn't he stay?''

The funeral ended
As quickly as it had begun
Ethan was gone
This horrible world won

**Home Alone**

I'm sitting in bed
Staring at the floor
A minute passes
And there's a knock at the door

Mom walks in
Her eyes averted down
''We're going to the store.''
I don't make a sound

Knowing I wouldn't be coming
She leaves me behind
After they leave
I make up my mind

I promised him I wouldn't cut
I remember as I continue to cry
But I didn't tell him
I wouldn't end my life

Swiftly walking into my parent's room
A violent plan plays in my head
I know I won't be here much longer
I'll be lying on the floor dead

I find what I'm looking for
A device made for killing
But I won't be murdered
I'll just go willing

Putting the pistol to my head
I know I'm going insane
But the last thing I hear
Is a ricocheting BANG!!

**Just A Dream**

I wake with a start
My heart racing rapid
I close my eyes
Trying to remember what happened

It had all been a dream
A trick played in my mind
I look around me
To see it was 11:09

Ethan still hadn't called me
What was taking him so long?
He didn't live too far away
He should be safe at home

The phone rings
And I catch my breath
Would this phone call be one of death?

''Hey Sweetie! I made it.''
I exhale deep
Now that he's home safe

I Dreamt of a Future That Will Never Exist By Blackheartslove

All my life I've dreamt of true love
Of finding my perfect prince
But that was all that it could be
A dream to calm me in my sleep

Since childhood we've heard the stories
Of princes and fairies, of ladies and knights
Fairy tales of far away places
Where there always exists a happy ending

Each night as I drifted off to sleep
I thought of my prince, who would he be?
I never imagined life's harsh reality
no perfect ending awaited me

I was destined to be Repunzel
Locked away in a tower
But no prince was to rescue me
I was thrust away, forgotten by the world

Oh they cam from far away lands
But not for love, no not at all
Their one and only true motive was glory
To have a beautiful princess stand by their side

So her I lie as the darkness comes forth

The blood from these veins, are slain
To convert this pain, from these wrist
So that anger doesn't coexist
Listen as I speak, cause there's always a twist

I slice so slow, and watch the blood drip as it flows
To know, at least that I can still feel
And watch as the knife cuts and the skin peels
Unhurried by my worries,

I let this blood; stream from my seams
It screams for the hope of new dreams
And it continues to pour
So that I can write on what was before

I cut these wrists, cause bloods my ink
Writing to rid myself of my demons
So I can think
I feel the pain but never blink
