Hi, plz all of u comment on my independence day article.
MY DREAMS IN FUTURE INDIA
14th August 2007,
Pondicherry.
Today, on the eve of the 60th independence day of India, I sit in the bus, which strolls past the city. I’m now, a student of merely 14 years; having dreams beyond the stars both for myself and for my motherland India. Exhausted by looking at the corruption in advanced stages in politics; poverty and illiteracy among people; terrorism; destruction of magnificent nature; the still prevailing “harmful” traditions, cultures, and superstitious beliefs; I still had one deep belief that India’s glorious future will be in the hands of extra ordinarily talented and educated people, indeed those who are students. Presently, India does not lack educational institutions, like IIT, IIM etc. (Even for myself, I have the passion of studying Aeronautical Engineering in IIT). I need to stress on the point that such brilliant students shouldn’t leave abroad, nor should they work for the technical development of India herself; but “ENTER INTO POLITICS”. This is what I meant to say, “India’s glorious future will be in the hands of extra ordinarily talented and educated people”. It was just when I was watching the Tamil film, “Aayutha Ezhuthu” of Mani Rathnam, that I got this inspiration. In fact, I like all of Mani Rathnam’s patriotic films.
Now, I’m just thinking about India in 2047, when I’ll be 54; and on August 15th, when India would have completed “100” years of independence, which will be an important milestone. I wonder how India will be then; and how my dream of students in politics comes true, with myself in it! (Though I’ll not be a student then!). I love India so much, that each time I sing the national anthem, I feel jingoistic and my eyes moisten. And today a speech given by one of my schoolmates is unforgettable. So, I’ll be sure of taking a pledge tomorrow to dedicate my entire life to India to see it one day as the mot highly developed country in the World, like the many true national leaders during the freedom struggle.
