Betiyaan does a Baazigar

Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan has taken an interesting twist. Lakshmi comes to know the truth about Karan when he discloses that their marriage was a deliberate strategy to destroy the Goradia family. We found some similarities in the current track of the serial and the SRK blockbuster Baazigar.

Similarity 1

In Betiyaan, Karan (Faisal Khan) comes to Goradia house as their so called saviour and does a lot of good for the family while is Baazigar, Ajay (SRK) comes to Madan Chopra’s house and impresses him.

Similarity 2

In the serial, the condition of Karan’s family is similar to Ajay’s. Like in the film, in the serial too Karan’s mother doesn’t recognize him as she is terminally ill.

Similarity 3

Karan’s mother goes to the Goradia house and pleads with them to take her husband back in the job after false allegations are leveled against him. But, like in the film, she too is ill-treated.

Similarity 4

In Baazigar, the child SRK pledges to take revenge of his father’s death at his funeral pyre. Karan too does the same in Betiyaan

However, we found some dissimilarities too

Difference 1

Karan’s aim is to take away Goradia family’s property. In Baazigar, Ajay wants to get back his property that was taken away from his father by forged means.

Difference 2

Karan pretends to fall in love with Lakshmi while in Baazigar, Vicky (SRK) takes the longer route first pretending to fall in love with his elder sister Seema (Shilpa Shetty)

Difference 3

In Baazigar, Vicky loves Priya but Karan doesn’t love Lakshmi. He confesses that it was a well thought out plan

Difference 4

In Betiyaan, Karan is going to torture Lakshmi very badly which never happened in Baazigar.

Twinkle’s ‘first’ marriage experience

Twinkle Bajpai aka Lakshmi of Betiyaan had some funny as well as scary experiences as she shot for her first on-screen marriage.

She was supposed to marry her ex-boyfriend Satyakam in the serial but that did not happen so now she is getting married to Karan.



Narrating her first time experience, she says, “I was both nervous and excited. The on-set mandap was decorated in Gujarati style while I’m a north-Indian Brahmin. I and Karan stared at each other for two minutes and when Guruji was about to start the mantras, I suddenly stopped and naively asked, ‘Wait… its not real naa’. I was also uncomfortable but thank God all was reel.”

There were funny moments too while shooting for the pheras. Reveals Twinkle, “When the scene was being shot, all our co-stars started hitting me and Karan with gende ka phool. This was not something new though. I did the same to Yuvraj and Saraswati during their marriage. It was all so comical.”

Twinkle got sentimental during the bidai sequence and cried since was leaving the Goradia mansion, which she says is similar to her house in Lucknow.

What about suhaag raat sequence? “Oh! there Lakshmi comes to know that Karan has married her with wrong intensions in mind. I won’t disclose more as it would be giving away too much.”

Yuvraj Malhotra admits affair with Twinkle Bajpai


For long it's been speculated that Yuvraj Malhotra and Twinkle Bajpai of Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan fame, are a pair in real life. Yuvraj has finally broken the ice. The actor has finally admitted that he's seeing his co-star.


The duo has been seeing each other for quite a long time. They spend a lot of time on the sets too. Twinkle, who otherwise remains aloof, enjoys Yuvraj's company.

"We're seeing each other from the past four months. Both of us are very open and serious about our relationship," divulges Yuvraj.

So who proposed first? He says, "Nothing like it happened. We started off as good friends and ended up being in a relationship. Both of us enjoy each other's company a lot. It's great to work with her as she's a brilliant actress."

Is marriage on the cards some time soon? "It's too early to decide on marriage as both of us are very busy with our respective work," quips Yuvraj.

He adds further, "She has a good voice and I love music. I think this is what clicked between us. As days went by, this friendship turned into love and the rest as they say is history. When not working, we go for shopping and enjoy our holiday"

If you thought that our Romeo will reveal more, then you're in for disappointment. "I don't want my private life to be the talk of the town. But I think its ok to admit this much. I don't want to dwell onto other things." he says.

Here's hoping that Twinkle and Yuvraj's love will shine forever.
