Hats Off Production House entered television industry in 2002 with their comedy show “Khichdi”. This show created a history. Its characters were liked by all. Then the production house came with Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai. It was also a comedy show but the format was entirely different from Khichdi. It was also a big success. Infact these two serials are still liked by the viewers in their repeat telecasts on different channels. The other serials by this production house like Instant Khichdi, Baa Bahop Aur Baby, Main office Tere Angan Ki etc are also remarkable.
Ek Packet Ummeed is a new serial by these makers. The show has been telecasted at NDTV Imagine at 8-30 pm weekly every Tuesday. It is a story of a shelter home- Umeed Bhavan where women of different age groups live together. They sell masala, achar, papad etc. These women have their miserable pasts but these women have decided never to look back and to live happily in their new home- Umeed Bhavan.
Rupali Ganguly or Monisha Sarabhai of Sarabhai v/s Sarabhai is doing an important role in this serial. She is accompanied by Lubana Salim (Leela of Baa Bahu Aur Baby). There are other stars like Neena Kulkarni, Sulbha Deshpande etc.
