ball tampering controversy between the pcb & icc has really gone out of context, thanks to the pcb. i am sorry pakisthan fans, i love pakisthan cricket sometimes more than even indian cricket, and my favorite cricketers have always been from pakisthan & australia. i always admired pakisthan's guts and determination on the cricket field but in this issue the pakisthan team management have taken the interest of the game at stake.

pakisthan were on the driving seat, and docking 5 runs shouldnt have mattered, inzamam must have just used that to spur his team in racking a victory. i am sure anyother pakisthani captain would've got the best out of his team after that incident, rather than hiding inside the dressing room and not making an attempt to come on time after tea, the sad fact is that everyone is supporting inzamam to do that. i really feel sorry about what has happened. icc is poor in decision making and even the umpires couldve made the decision without proper evidence, but the players are there to play and the management to take up the issue behind scene not vice versa. i really hope an amicable solution comes out and icc makes a point this doesnt happen again. i also hope they drive in some strong message to inzamam, woolmer & shaharyar khan. i strongly feel wrong decisions cost matches, but this wasnt one ofthem, instead it was something that couldve got the best out of the team. it was a great match & interesting poised, great comeback by pakisthan from series defeat, when the young heros(asif, gul, hafeez & farhat) where doing a great job, their captain, coach & the management let them down.

Great post Shrek :) We need you more often.

I think people from the subcontinent seem to take it very hard when decisions go against them, players, officials & fans must learn to take it in the right spirit. I am sure umpries meant no harm and Hair is a good umpire.

I hope the situation diffuses and doesnt go on to become a huge problem hence putting the cricketing world in jeopardy.

Hey SHREK I totally agreee wdh u tht thier PROTEST was not right as acoording to the rules of cricket n it was clear tht PAK has almost won tht match n I want to tell u tht they were not hidding at alll they were jus PROTESTING but if u thnk this whole issue as a PAKISTANI then u will came to the same decision tht INZI was right at tht time. The whole PAKISTANI nation was shocked when they saw tht tht unhair HAIR gave 5 runs PENALTY for the first time for altering the baallllll. These issues r very common against ASIANs as they did it against DRAVID n SACHIN(but these were the fair decisions as cameras capture those scences)but here 26 cameras of SKY NEWS didnt get any thng at allll. They did it before for SHOIB n WAQAR n there was nothin at all at those times also.In the beginning of 90's when 2w's were swinging at thier peak then these FARHANGI GORAY were saying it the ALTERING THE BALLL n when ENG won ASHES last year they said it is an ART.

hey ABDUL WASAY good to see you around :) thanks for coming in & keep posting your comments.

reg ball tampering controversy, i am very sure & supportive towards the pakisthan team, but the point is not that, its about 'teams walking of the field' in protest of any decision

we must know there is always a thin line between whats right & wrong when handling the ball. Also this decision was taken during the course of the game when pakisthan were salvaging their pride on a lost series, 5 runs didnt mean any harm, they must've gone on with the game and let the decision making done on backstage. i understand it was hard to take, but what else can be done at that stage?

icc has always been considerate in asian cases because we are markets of the game, but that doesnt mean we can take anything against the icc. umpiring decisons have to be respected. i feel this what Aleem Dhar, the second best umpire in world thinks too.

Here is what BBC Sports is commenting on Ball tampering!

The subject of ball tampering is nothing new. For the first time, however, a player has been banned after being found guilty of altering the condition of the ball.
But was the one-match suspension handed out to Pakistan fast bowler Waqar Younis punishment enough?

The Pakistan team were first caught up in a ball tampering controversy during their 1992 tour of England, when the reverse swing obtained by Waqar and Wasim Akram enabled them to win the Test series 2-1.

Then England captain Mike Atherton found himself in hot water two years later, when TV pictures showed him apparently rubbing dirt on the ball during a Test against South Africa at Lord's.

Shoaib Akhtar came under scrutiny during last year's World Cup, but these are not isolated incidents.

So where do you stand on the ball-tampering issue?

Is the banning of Waqar a belated attempt to prevent players putting one over on the umpires?

Or is it a knee jerk reaction by a game desperate to be seen to be cleaning up its act in the wake of recent match-fixing scandals?

Is a tougher line needed on ball tampering?

My dear friend SHREK I totaallly agree wdh u tht those 5 runs can't change da match at all.PAKISTAN was in the position tht they can easily win tht match but tht decision was all about the IZZAT n wht INZI didd the whole PAKI's wdh them n u know tht they were also SCARED when TV CAM didn't capture anyfin n when INZI n BOB calleedd the PRESS CONFERENCE n they told the media tht if they will not solve this dispute before the ODI's then we will not play this series(SALLLAAY IN GOROOON KO TOH RDB KI TARAH MAAR DENA CHAHIYAH)
