I think this idea of member of the week is really good, i hope every one keeps it up!!

It's funny, i didnt even guess the last part of the clue till Naaz mentioned my name, then i realised that my sistas are members aswell!! hehe, how silly of me. Did you have love marriage or arranged? It was mostly arranged. I mean we were introduced to each other and then we got married after 3 months of talking on the phone. But at least we got to know each other.

3 things you would change about yourslef? 1. I’d lose weight. 2. I’d try to stop being so lazy and get more work done around the house. 3. I’d try to take my son out to more fun places.

Name 3 good qualities about yourself? 1. I’m a good listener. 2. I’m a good friend. 3. I’m a decent cook! :)

If given chance what KS character would you like to be? I really don’t know. I think that everyone is messed up on the show now, in one way or the other. If I had to had to choose, I think I’d pick Dadi. She’s the least screwed up.

My favorite genres are romantic comedy (I love Kuch Kuch Hota He, A walk in the clouds, Only You, etc), straight out comedies (Andaz Apna Apna, Awara Paagal Deewana, Munna Bhai) and natural disaster movies (Titanic, Daylight, Dante's Peak, etc).

wht makes u emotinal? Anything bad happening to children (can't watch the news anymore without getting upset about some story or another about violence towards children) and tear jerker movies.

wht makes u angry? When people are bad listeners. I hate it when people don’t even realize they’re not listening anymore. My son also makes me flip my lid. But you can’t stay angry at him long! Also, when people read my fan fic (and I know people are reading it!) and besides Anita (Awall) no one comments.

Have you traveled much? A bit. I’ve been to India 4 times. Spain, Morocco, Portugal, London (although I don’t remember much of that trip) and Canada. Within the US, I’ve been to many states. My honeymoon was almost non existent so someday I wish to go to Italy for my “second honeymoon”, insha’allah.

How do you like to spend a "duty free" day? Watching the food network, scrapbooking, and shopping

Are you Western or Eastern in your values? I’m both. In high school, I found that I was too desi for my gora friends. For my husband, sometimes I’m too western. In the end, if I was ever called ABCD I always said that for me, it meant American Born Cool Desi :)

How do you rate the above? I wouldn't know how to qualify it. I think what you mean is how desi and how American I am? If so, then I’d say I’m more desi than American. Maybe 70%/30%. I have all the eastern sanskaars, but my work ethic is definitely American. I want to have no part in owning a business (my whole family does) and I just like the 9-5 job, nights and weekends off, ability to take 2 week vacations, etc. See what I mean?

1. I know you like writing so a. what would be the title of your first book and b. what would it be about? a. About 6-7 years ago I did start writing a book. I was going to either call it Ducks on a Frozen Pond or The Iron Gate. I never got around to actually naming it. b. It was a love story, of course, about the journey of two desi graduate students in an American university. I got married while the book was 2/3 of the way done and then I never finished it. Now, I think my writing has matured…and I wonder if the book is any good the way it is.

2. Would you write with a pen name or your real name? My real name.

3. What is your current fav song, can be any language? Right now I really really like the Beedi song from Omkaara. Sunidhi Chauhan is awesome. Meri Dhoop He Tu from Zindagi Rocks is a close second.

4. You said you like to cook and did want to open a restuarant... so what would be the name of the place? Maybe I’d name it Indi Fuze (for Indian Fusion) or something like that. I love the name Curry in a Hurry but I guess that’s already taken! Then again, if I did open a restaurant, I think I’d name it something in Hindi though. Something very easy for Americans to pronounce, but something meaningful.

5. What animal best describes your personality and how? Some days I’m a chicken with it’s head cut off (cuz I’m going nuts with every day life) and other days I’m napping lioness. I have the ability to roar but it’s just one of those chill out kinda days. (I hope that’s not too cheesy!)

Let me say, that I've lived years in India without actually "living" in India. My dad was the first from his family to immigrate to the US. When I was 4, two of my chachas (dad's bros) came to live with us. Then the two chachis came. Then my dadi, my phuphi (bua), her hubby, two kids, another phuphi, 4 cousins from one chacha and 3 cousins from another chacha. They all stayed with us for 5 years on and off and I'd say for about a year they were ALL with us in the same house. When some of them moved out then my mom's side started to come. Her two brothers, their wives, my naani and a total of three kids. Living in that household, every day there was some lesson having to with India or being Indian or Muslim.

We ate khichdi for lunch one day and dal chawal the next. Then it would be repeated. I learned how to make roti for that many people at age 8! We couldn't all go out for entertainment cuz my dad and chachas were the only one that worked. Everyone else was women and children. So we watched Hindi movies every single night!

So to make a short story long....ask me why I'm so desi...you've got the answer above! I hope my answer wasn't too long, but that's the real reason. :)

I tried to read A suitable match a long time ago too and if I remember correctly it was huge. I don't watch any tv serials anymore since we don't have sony and zee. I watched mamta in the beginning and it was reeeeeeeeeeally good. I watched until they separated the lovers. It's like method drama producing these days...can't let the main stars be with who they love. Can anyone name a single drama where the main characters are together in a normal relationship? I used to like the "reality" shows. A new one is coming "Big Boss" with my favorite - Arshad Warsi and I''m so bummed out that I can't watch it (well, at least not on a tv since there's always online watching). Uniaza, I have fallen in love before, but I am not currently in love though; I though you were just generally asking.

Well in any case, the guy would have been a lucky guy if he felt the same way, but alas no. Oh well, but the real ringer was my best friend was dating him weeks later. That was defn a low blow, especially since I talked about him to her beforehand. I could have done without the heartbreak and betrayal.

I hope this explains why I can't stomach KS with the ONS track, I just can't fathom how someone close to you can do that... but don't worry I haven't given up on love though. I believe God has someone special out there just for me!

1. If you look back five years ago to what you thought u'd be doing five years in the future, are u there yet? Better or worse than what u thought? I’m there and it’s better.
2. If you could take individual features from different people to create the ideal man, what would you take from who and why? (i.e. Shahrukh's characters' personalities and hritik's body and so and so's eyes and so and so's hair, etc). I wouldn’t take anything from anyone to make an ideal man, because he would be set apart from the rest because he would be different from the rest. Plus who wants to see their ideal man and end up seeing other men in him?

The most funniest thing I have done to date... which is embrassing as well, here goes:

Background info: I wear contacts/glasses and well my vision is bad n everything is mad blurry if I don't have either on.

So this is back when I was a freshman(2001) in college and lived in the dorms. It was night time and I was taking off my contacts.. ....or I though I was because a few second later I was closing the caps on my contact case thinking I had taken them off. :rolleyes: I looked up and started looking for my glasses which weren't in front of me so I figured they were on my desk at the other end.

So I start walking back, when I realize holy shit I can see without my contacts!!!! :eek: I was like wow I just took of my contacts and I can miraculously see, I should go on "It's a Miracle (this is a show)".... I was so excited it was painfully embrassing now, thank god I had no roomate that semester see would have been like WTF:confused: .

I go back to my contacts case to put my contacts back on to see if there is any difference and well I don't see my contacts in there, and can't find them so I start looking on the dresser and then the floor... lol it hasn't hit me yet that I'm wearing them. So two mintues later I'm like whatever, I'm sleeping. I rub my eyes and well...... yep I felt my contact in my eye. :D

Haha I laughed so hard, it was great! It still makes me smile.....

ok d most funny thing i ve done is when i was in my 2nd year of my college it was 2003, i was very serious person regading my studied there was time i use 2 study 4 10-12 hr a day:( so every1 use 2 give comment like "kitabi kidda " or somthing like tht so 1 day i get really boared of all thoses comment n decied first time 2 bunk d classes n go 4 movie with frnd:cool: . i jump frm d window n get out of the running class but after tht i feel so guilty tht i cancled d plan of going out n stay in college for more 2 hr after evreything was over:D .

n u know i ve wounded my left leg while jumping out. seriouly on tht day i feel so guilty but now i use 2 laugh on it tht how stupid of me take so much effort 4 going out n cancled everything
