Over the years I've come to feel very strongly that Akshay Kumar is one of the most versatile and likable actors of all time in Indian cinema.
He has some excellent comedies to his credit and there's no doubt he can cause fits of laughter. As an action star he has no genuine second, with his self-stunts capabilities. And as a drama and romantic actor, he comes out brilliantly in a unique way. Some of his serious, dramatic, depressed and extremely romantic scenes and shots are brilliant to say the least. He captures some 'every man' sort of expressions and body language demanded by the situation and the scene.
With all this going his way and in 2007-2008 having done the most business in Bollywood, I am glad for once a guy who's made it sheerly on talent, ability and passion rather than connections, tact; one who has the skill and wisdom to put in his best is on his way to being recognized as a top actor.
