The television industry has given us heroines good and bad.
Dmg is not the first serial to have its lead lady being replaced.

When shilpa's leaving news spread, thousands of curious and sad fans called her up to reconsider her desicion.
but did she?
No. She thought only about her benefit and avoided all the efforts of her fans to stop her from leaving.

when i called her up that day, she even denied that she is Shilpa!
Sukirti took her place.
People felt she was unsuitable and somehow they were convinced to give her a chance.
Her face as riddhimma went on the floors..
Some respected her some didnt.
Every one entitled themselves to their own opinions.
But, Sukirti and her being riddhimma was not being accepted by many.

We give our opinions proudly but dont think about the consequences.

Did we ever think what sukirti went through??
no. She went through harsh critisicm, unacceptance, pressure and agony.

harsh critiscm- cause no one liked her. They not only did post bad reviews on her looks but also glibbed remarks on her as an actor.
Even if they felt she wasnt as good to be riddhimma.
then why did they have to criticise her acting.
Just bcoz she couldnt play the role of riddhimma they called her a bad actor??

unacceptance- people had got so used to shilpa as riddhimma that they did not want any one else. It is natural in the initial months but now??
people are still not getting over it!

pressure- it takes lot of hardwork to replace a succesful face on screen.
sukirti had to replace shilpa. It was direct replacement. They did not show anything like shilpa had an accident and a plastic surgery or anything. sukirti had to directly run the show. all her effort- the wig n all were hated.

agony- no one even gave her a chance. We critisiced her so much so much!!
What was her fault in shilpa leaving?? someone had to play the role so she did! why blame the poor thing?? we all had to give her a chance n we did!!
but inspite her efforts we deep down realised that she should be accepted but yet we did not accept her! why this injustice to her??

I agree that at the beginning i too was against her...
But now i am actually starting to respect her as an actor and as riddhimma...
she might be fat,ugly and with fat lips, wigs and horrible make up!
but thats not her fault!!
every ones made differently.
there were flaws in shilpa too!!

Get over all this now!

Everyone cannot accept suk.Everone has their own opinion.No one can force to do anything which they dont like.Even today many shilpas fan see shilpa as riddi.No one knows what happen between shilpa and creatives.U have mentioned in the begining u too have not agreed now u have accepted where as some have not accepted even now.No one is blaming her 4 shilpas exit.Many after seeing shilpa cannot accept anyone as riddi.Shilpa has brought this riddi character to very high.Accepting and not accepting is individuals decision.For me riddi is only and only shilpa.I do accept in tv serail many changes have come in many serials ,and in many serial old one has come back also.And in some serials the replacement is good right from the day 1 accepted.here it is not like this.I am sorry i dont want to hurt suk fan.KASH is the best jodi.

Firstly Jharna brilliant post.In ur post u have tried to explain both Shilpa & Sukirti's condition.Even in the first month i found it difficult to accept Sukirti as Ridhima.But later on i thought that in some scenes she was fantastic & maybe Shilpa cudnt have done justice to such scenes.
Sukirti is not ugly,fat or anything that u mentioned.Its just that she has been forced to appear like Shilpa like the same clothes that Shilpa wore are given to Sukirti.Naturally we will compare her appearance with Shilpa.If the stylist works on her then surely she will look great.For eg The dress that she wore for date,or blue suit (that she wears in every romantic scene!) even swimsuit ,Sukirti looked great in them.Its because we never saw Shilpa in those clothes & therefore dont compare them.
Its good that Shilpa fans(i admit i am still a kash fan)are so loyal to her but then guys she has moved on & i would suggest so should u.

Friends Ithought of sharing my views with u guys...

The television industry has given us heroines good and bad.
Dmg is not the first serial to have its lead lady being replaced.

When shilpa's leaving news spread, thousands of curious and sad fans called her up to reconsider her desicion.
but did she?
No. She thought only about her benefit and avoided all the efforts of her fans to stop her from leaving.

when i called her up that day, she even denied that she is Shilpa!
Sukirti took her place.
People felt she was unsuitable and somehow they were convinced to give her a chance.
Her face as riddhimma went on the floors..
Some respected her some didnt.
Every one entitled themselves to their own opinions.
But, Sukirti and her being riddhimma was not being accepted by many.

We give our opinions proudly but dont think about the consequences.

Did we ever think what sukirti went through??
no. She went through harsh critisicm, unacceptance, pressure and agony.

harsh critiscm- cause no one liked her. They not only did post bad reviews on her looks but also glibbed remarks on her as an actor.
Even if they felt she wasnt as good to be riddhimma.
then why did they have to criticise her acting.
Just bcoz she couldnt play the role of riddhimma they called her a bad actor??

unacceptance- people had got so used to shilpa as riddhimma that they did not want any one else. It is natural in the initial months but now??
people are still not getting over it!

pressure- it takes lot of hardwork to replace a succesful face on screen.
sukirti had to replace shilpa. It was direct replacement. They did not show anything like shilpa had an accident and a plastic surgery or anything. sukirti had to directly run the show. all her effort- the wig n all were hated.

agony- no one even gave her a chance. We critisiced her so much so much!!
What was her fault in shilpa leaving?? someone had to play the role so she did! why blame the poor thing?? we all had to give her a chance n we did!!
but inspite her efforts we deep down realised that she should be accepted but yet we did not accept her! why this injustice to her??

I agree that at the beginning i too was against her...
But now i am actually starting to respect her as an actor and as riddhimma...
she might be fat,ugly and with fat lips, wigs and horrible make up!
but thats not her fault!!
every ones made differently.

but this is not universal truth.....that good casting can always made a movie hit......about Don i didnt like it.........nyway their r many things worked behind the success of a movie........afterall this is a very broad complex platform.....& when Don was released i guess it was 2006........there were so many good movies with strong casting.......that yr was really competitive........

well ist of all let em clear one thing that i am not watching dmg because of karan teh funny thing is i like armaan character more then karan singh gorover. there is a big defferance btw both of them...........and most of the members here know this fact that ia m not a very big fan of ksg.he is a fair actor and a nice guy thats it.

Well said. I agree to each and every point u have mentioned. Both the story and the actors are equally imp. Even the makers of such shows are aware of it. So does it mean they will keep substitutes in every show when the lead actors have some other comitments. I am sure they'll start this trend if we accept such dumb changes. Are the viewers so..... dumb to blindly watch such shows. Afterall the shows are based on real life situations with a few exeptions. As i said earlier its like watching DDLJ 1st half with kajol &2nd half with Tanisha?!@#$%

I hope I don't sound rude, But you can't tell people that they can't compare coz these are actors, they get themselves in the business. When Sukriti signed up for the role.. she knew it will be hard. If it weren't her.. it would of been someone else. So thats why I don't feel sorry for her as it happens.
People have criticized Shilpa when she was Riddhima as well.. but when she left DMG the fans realised what she left behind. Seeing the main character change cannot be easy.. and never is in whatever serial you see. So the backlash to the creatives was inevitable as well as the cries for shilpa to come back which is still felt.
My personal fave is Shilpa as Riddhima and has always been. I still have not accepted Sukriti as Riddhima and hence quit seeing DMG but still watch old DMG. You can't tell people to 'Move on'-- if people are passionate about their feeling then it won't happen and everyone is entitled to opinion whether we agree or not.

lakin iss ka matlab yeh hargiz nahi k aap apni choice kiyye gayye par dosron ko majboor karayn k woh bhi ussay like karay.

I guess nobody has any personal grudge against sukirti. The people who r not able to accept sukirti as riddhima are perhaps more sensitive and emotional than those who have easily accepted her. May be if sukirti is replaced with kajol even that will be accepted easily by some. Frankly i still feel sukirti is a total misfit for riddhima's character.
There was also a view that because we r used to seeing shilpa as riddhima people are not able to accept sukirti but this may be just 20% but the other 80% is that she had the right attitude and personality for riddhima's role and she has done full justice thro' her awesome acting skills. Well when they replaced shilpa they should have taken someone more suitable for riddhima's character. Acceptance should be something which comes from within but in this case that can't happen. I can never accept sukirti as riddhima. For me shilpa is and will be the only riddhima...........:)
