Ali Merchant to play lead in upcoming Sony show tentatively titled Aa Ab Laut Chalein.

Ali Merchant has bagged the lead role in an upcoming Sony show.

According to our source, "Ali Merchant has been finalized to play the lead role in Edit 2 and Sony's new show tentatively titled Aa Ab Laut Chalein. Earlier Naman Shaw was approached to play the lead role. But due to some confidential reasons, it has been decided that Ali Merchant would play the role. Playing his female interest is RJ Sana Sheikh who apparently is making her TV debut with this show. She is a popular name thanks to her radio show Aap hain Khoobsurat Sana Ke Saath."

Adds the source, "The show is a sweet love story and is based on a rural backdrop. The male lead plays a typical lover boy. Both the protagonists are childhood sweethearts."

We tried calling Ali but he remained unavailable for the comment.

Ali has also bagged a Rajshri Productions and NDTV Imagine show which will soon go on air.
