Hi Jublu,
Very good observation and very critic eyes. appreciate your observation.
But did you notice the talent of the singer? In this democratic country we are also habitusted to pull teh sleeves like politicians. I guess and believe if anyone who is on the stage before a mass audience will not be preapred to ask for vote in whta way? Their main focus is the way and appeal they have to make via singing only. These are only additives and have less values.
I feel good to see that she compalined about the spelling of ORISSA in the banner, this shows her patritism and committment towards her state. Can any Indian tolerate if INDIA's spelling will be wrong in any banner? absolutely no way for a patriot. Similar job she has done. and we should appreciate the courage of the gal because she has got the guts to raise he voice agianst any mis deeds also.
Coming to your point on translation in languages, I guess when you are on stage and suddenly you are praised about your performance, your adrenalin will be rushing and then you have to say something, then it may go in any way. We should never focus on that because linguistically appealing to audience is never a major factor. What amtters is what you have performed. Linguistic appeal will bring votes from specific states only not from the country.
Yes one more point that Orissa has many talented singers, but at time how many singers will be filtered. Only one, You may have a heap of talent but at an instance if someone else is better than you then definitely he will be selected. Take the example of Abhinav Bindra is Beijing Olympics, RS ratore is a better shooter but Bindra achieved a gold because at time he clicked.
I standby and support Sayantani in full fledge that she is an excellent singer and Orissa is proud to have such represent.

That's nice.the Thing to regret is that while speaking to Orissa people she used English, but while speaking to Bengali people She used Bengali Language.Does She know Oriya also? She did not bother to speak in Oriya for Orissa people. That is not expected from somebody who is representing Orissa, a state full of true ancient Indian culture.
